Happy Autism Pride Day!

Autism Pride Day was founded in 2005 by Aspies for Freedom, the celebration was modelled after the Gay Pride movement. The co-founder Kabie Brook stated "the most important thing to note about the day is that it is an autistic community event: it originated from and is still led by autistic people ourselves." The rainbow infinity symbol was selected to represent "diversity with infinite variations and infinite possibilities."

The Washington State legislature is trying to withdraw $33 million dollars from DDCS waiver programs under the assumption that these funds will go unused. They provide services that help people with intellectual or developmental disabilities live in the community instead of institutions.
