Oh no! The Revenge of the Fifth is upon us!

Not to worry, we've got the galaxies best on our side.

Last month we got a chance to meet the real deal, Ahsoka Tano. For those who are not in the know, Ashley Eckstein is not only the voice of Ahsoka in a galaxy far far away, but a delightful human being in this one. It was a real joy to talk with her and to see her love for Star Wars and its fans.
If you're unfamiliar with Ashley, go look her up. She does tons of cool stuff, even an awesome line of ladies Star Wars clothing!

To celebrate that Galaxy Far Far Away, a new hat has joined the collective!

As you know, May the 4th is known through out the galaxy as Star Wars Day. So, I love using that as an excuse to add one more hat to my little Star Wars corner.

This year's addition........Boba Fett!

75 years ago today, the Roswell Daily Record reported on a mysterious crash in the desert. Was it extraterrestrial? A weather ballon? Perhaps just a tall tale? I'm surely not one to say. You believe what you like.

One thing that that is known, the Roswell "Incident" helped launch a UFO fervor that has had a cultural impact to this day. It has inspired science fiction, conspiracy, imagination and so much more. So for that, I think we should do something special.

Yup, this is totally a tease....so look for more to come.
(Spoiler alert: it probably has something to do with a hat, just saying 😉)

So does that mean I'm ready to take on-line orders?
Not yet, but your hatmaker has to have a little play time or he goes crazy.

Change is in the air!

I'd like everyone to know that I am taking a pause on new custom orders. I will be taking the time needed to catch up on hats currently in the queue. There are certainly a few of you who have been waiting a while...thank you for your patience.

During the pause, we are going to be making some fun new changes. We've begun sprucing up the website, check it out and let us know what you think.

Well, I can't say this one looks "Good as New", but this 1970's Resistol sure is looking better after some heavy elbow grease.

Some of you may not know this, but I started my hat career cleaning and shaping western hats. So it always wells up a bit of nostalgia when I get to tackle a good ol' working hat.

Here's hoping this one will enjoy many more years under the sun 🌞

I know the world seems a tough place right now, and while this little hat maker doesn't have any answers, I do have plenty of love and hope.

Whatever struggle you are dealing with right now, be it racial injustice, feeling imprisoned by a confusing virus, the fear of losing your job, or heck, all of those things at once; you all have my support.

Today a great portion of my fellow Americans are standing in the streets crying out. They are asking to be heard, respected and treated justly.

If you think the statement "Black Lives Matter" means that your life doesn't matter, because you are not black, please take a minute to go over to https://blacklivesmatter.com/what-we-believe/ and learn what that movement stands for. If you don't have the time, here is a quick quote from that website.

We work vigorously for freedom and justice for Black people and, by extension, all people.

Remember folks, we are all human. We all need and long for the same things. We CAN all work together to achieve those things and the world will certainly be a better place for our efforts.

For my part, I can promise you all this: I will never judge or treat you in any way based on the color of your skin or where you were born. Nor will I judge you based on how much money you were born with, how much you have in your pocket now, your political affiliation or your religious faith. In fact, I would love to know more about you. I bet you're pretty interesting. I hope you feel the same about me.

As the best entry to the Star Wars canon comes to a close, I thought it only fitting on May the 4th, to celebrate the greatest character in all of the Galaxy far far away: Ashoka Tano.
And heck, while we're having fun, let's celebrate ol' Maul. I think he has finally earned it ;).

If you caught our teaser post a little while back, then this 8 side brim won't be any surprise.
While very similar to the original model, this is the second of this style to come out of the shop and it's a stunner to be sure!
Rife with Chinese symbolism from lucky numbers to prosperous color choices, this hat is one heck of a concept and great for a high polished night on the town.
