Feeling weak doesn’t mean your faith isn’t working.

Some of you feel the weakest you’ve ever felt.

And you’re wondering...

“God, what’s wrong with me?”

“Why can’t I handle this?”

“Why don’t I feel stronger by now?”

Maybe your weakness isn’t evidence that your faith has failed.

Maybe it’s evidence that your faith has been at work.

I’ve realized that when I’m at my weakest, I’m actually the strongest in Christ I’ve ever been.

Why?

Because I’m the most dependent I’ve ever been.

“My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.”

2 Corinthians 12:9
God isn’t trying to make me more self-sufficient.

He’s teaching me to depend on Him.

So if you feel weak right now, don’t mistake dependence for defeat.

Your weakness may be the very place where you discover His strength.

Do the work.

We make Christianity so difficult sometimes.

There is work to Christianity.

I didn’t say there was work to salvation.

Salvation is a gift.

But Scripture tells us to “work out your salvation with fear and trembling.” Philippians 2:12

You need more peace?

Work it out.

Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus.

Obey what He told you to do.

And keep doing it until He gives you the next instruction.

We’re always looking for the next word when sometimes we haven’t finished obeying the last one.

Do the work.

Stay faithful.

Keep your eyes on Him.

And don’t move until He tells you where to go next.

You can never satisfy the flesh.

It’s never enough.

Never enough money.

Never enough success.

Never enough achievement.

Never enough recognition.

Never enough affirmation.

Never enough approval.

Give the flesh what it wants today, and tomorrow it’ll ask for more.

That’s why Jesus tells us to deny ourselves, take up our cross daily, and follow Him.

The flesh doesn’t need to be managed.

It needs to be crucified.

Every single day.

That’s one reason I live a fasted lifestyle.

Because I know me.

I know how easily my flesh can get out of control, and I don’t ever want to lose my edge spiritually.

Stop trying to satisfy something that was never designed to be satisfied.

Feed your spirit.

Crucify your flesh.

And do it again tomorrow.

You can’t get a harvest from a seed you never sowed.

Some of you keep asking God for a harvest while you’re eating your seed.

You have to get the seed in the ground.

Then comes the part none of us like...

Waiting.

Seed.

Time.

Harvest.

While you’re waiting, keep sowing.

Don’t dig up the seed because you haven’t seen anything yet.

Don’t stop because the harvest is taking longer than you expected.

Just keep sowing.
Because eventually, you’ll start seeing harvest after harvest after harvest.

Some of you are living in that right now.

God is bringing fruit from seeds you planted 10 or 15 years ago. You might not even know which act of obedience produced the harvest you’re experiencing today.

So don’t underestimate the seed in your hand right now.

Sow it.

Stay faithful.

And trust God with the harvest.

You don’t want God asking, “Where are you?”

When God asked Adam that question in the garden, it wasn’t because He didn’t know where Adam was.

Adam wasn’t where he was supposed to be.

And some of us keep leaving the place God told us to stay because it got hard.

Maybe it’s your marriage.

Maybe it’s your business.

Maybe it’s an assignment you know God gave you.

You’ve been praying for breakthrough, but what if the breakthrough is coming to the place you just walked away from?

Don’t exit prematurely.

Don’t abandon the assignment because it got uncomfortable.

And quit crawling off the altar every time it gets hard.

Stay where God told you to stay.

Keep obeying.

Keep trusting.

So when God comes looking for you, He finds you exactly where He told you to be.

Stop asking God to change the situation before you ask Him what needs to change in you.

When I can’t see God working outwardly, sometimes it’s because He’s doing a deeper work inwardly.

And when life heats up, my first prayer is usually...

“God, get me out of this.”

“God, fix this.”

“God, change this situation.”

But what if the better question is:

“God, what in me needs to change?”

Because if I miss what God is trying to form in me, I can keep going from wilderness to wilderness to wilderness and never step into the Promised Land.

God isn’t wasting the difficulty.

He’s developing character.

He’s teaching obedience.

He’s preparing me to carry His power and His glory into the place He’s called me.

So before you ask God to change what’s happening around you, ask Him what He wants to transform within you.

Don’t waste the wilderness trying to escape what God is using to prepare you.

What happens when you get everything you thought you wanted... and realize it still isn’t enough?

Derek Baker had the truck.

The house.
The family.
The business.

But behind what looked like success was a struggle with alcohol that had followed him since he was a teenager.

And it wasn’t just affecting him.

Employees were lost.
Contracts were lost.
Profitability suffered.

Eventually, Derek had to confront something bigger than what was happening in the business.

He had everything he had dreamed of, and he still wasn’t fulfilled.

That realization led him to a truth that changed the direction of his life:
