A great initiative to highlight young artists in the community!
Braselton Community Development Announces Updated “Creativity StARTs Here” Exhibit
Braselton, GA — May 5, 2026 - The Braselton Community Development Department is pleased to announce the latest update to “Creativity StARTs Here,” a collaborative public art initiative in partnership with the Braselton Woman’s Club. This ongoing project fosters local creativity while strengthening connections between community organizations and schools.
As part of this collaboration, Barbara Ellis, president of the Braselton Woman’s Club recently met with Nancy Pronko, art teacher at Braselton’s Four Points Preparatory Academy, to install a new student art display at the 1904. The updated exhibit features colorful and vivid work from Mrs. Frances’ fifth grade students, inspired by their recent study of artist Keith Haring.
Through this study, students explored the idea of using drawings as symbols to communicate meaning. The exhibit includes interpretations of iconic imagery such as “The Barking Dog,” representing loyalty and playfulness.
The display is in the 1904 Lobby of the historic Braselton Brothers Department Store building, 9924 Davis Street. As a cornerstone of Braselton’s history, the building provides a unique setting for showcasing the work of emerging young artists in our community.
To celebrate the students and their work, the Braselton Woman’s Club will host a special reception for participating students and their families on May 13 from 8:30 to 9:00 a.m. in the 1904 Lobby.
The exhibit is currently open to the public daily. Residents and visitors are encouraged to stop by, experience the creative artwork of Braselton’s students.
