Congratulations to my MGH Neurology colleagues on publication of our BCG Alzheimer's study in Nature Communication Medicine. Prior studies have linked BCG to lower Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) or dementia as well as demonstrate favorable changes in AD related proteins. This shows that BCG can reprogram immune responses detectable in the central nervous system and demonstrate a possible biological bridge between the prior clinical observations and Alzheimer’s biology.
