Veterans!!!!!!! Tomorrow will be a very special evening here at the Boerne ISD Football game between our Boerne Greyhounds vs Somerset. The Greyhounds are hosting an ALL VETERAN Appreciation NIGHT in partnership with Wounded Warrior and Compadres Hill Country Cocina at 6pm…..FREE Admission for Veterans and their families…..And they will ALL have the opportunity to lead the Greyhounds onto the field! Game begins at 6pm….Just show up with your ID and I will personally shake hands with each and everyone of yall tomorrow evening, thanking you for your service. Today, on the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, we pause to remember.

We hold close the nearly 3,000 lives taken that day—fathers and mothers, sons and daughters, friends, colleagues, and heroes. Each name carries a story, and each absence is still felt by families who continue to carry the weight of that loss with quiet strength and enduring love.

We honor the first responders who ran toward the danger. Their courage and selflessness remain a powerful testament to the best of who we are.

From the ashes of that day rose a spirit of unity and resilience that reminded us we are stronger together. May we continue to live by that example—caring for one another, standing with those who still grieve, and never allowing these lives or their sacrifices to fade from memory.

To every family still feeling the ache: your loved ones are not forgotten. They live on in the way we remember them, in the way we serve others, and in the quiet resolve to honor their lives by how we treat one another.

We also create safe spaces for vulnerable children to reconnect with the land and find hope.

Courage is often quietest at its highest cost. In the chaos of combat, under fire, you paid that cost so others would not have to. The Purple Heart is a solemn emblem of wounds received in the line of duty—some visible, many carried in silence. Each one is a testament to sacrifice freely offered in service to a greater cause.

Today and every day, our gratitude remains steadfast. Thank you for standing in harm’s way. Thank you for the freedom secured by your endurance. Thank you for showing us the true face of love of country.
