Major regional events don’t just impact one venue or one city — they create ripple effects across an entire region.

As San Antonio experiences increased economic activity tied to the Spurs’ Finals run, local businesses throughout Kendall County are joining in on the excitement as well.

From Spurs-themed conchas at Mi Pueblo Bakery and custom playoff hair designs at Buena Gente Barbershop, to handmade Spurs earrings at Handmade on Main, locally made Spurs apparel from Hope Creations and More in Comfort, and watch parties at Salvador DOBBS, businesses across our area are finding creative ways to connect with the community and the energy surrounding the Finals.

Conferences, trade shows, festivals, sporting events, and tourism opportunities all help generate activity for local restaurants, retailers, hospitality businesses, makers, and service providers throughout communities like ours.

We always appreciate opportunities that bring visitors, energy, and economic activity to our region.

Growing Kendall County đź’ˇ

Economic development is about more than buildings and infrastructure - it’s about people, partnerships, and quality of life, too.

Kendall County was recently ranked the most charitable county in Texas by SmartAsset, reflecting the strong culture of community support that helps make this community special.

Through this series, we will be highlighting nonprofit organizations and community partners helping strengthen Kendall County’s economy and future.

This week’s spotlight is Das GreenHaus, Kendall County’s first nonprofit business incubator. Das GreenHaus provides mentorship, education, affordable workspace, and business support to local entrepreneurs working to launch and grow businesses right here in Kendall County.

Because when local entrepreneurs succeed, they create jobs, strengthen the tax base, and help build a stronger local economy for the entire community.

đź’ˇ Kendall County Entrepreneur Spotlight

We love highlighting the people behind the businesses that make Kendall County such a special place.

We visited Monogramme No. 29 in Comfort to talk with owner Rhonda about her entrepreneurial journey and what inspired her to create a boutique that feels both personal and welcoming.

The boutique is filled with a curated mix of fashion, gifts, and monogramming paired with the kind of customer experience that keeps people coming back.

Rhonda’s creativity and attention to detail have helped create a space that reflects the charm and hospitality of the Texas Hill Country.

Be sure to check them out and support local!

Although, whichever name gets chosen, most of Boerne will probably still call it “the new park by Curington.” 🙂

Residents can submit suggestions and share feedback through the City’s survey below 👇

The City of Boerne is seeking community input on the future name of the new park under construction, currently referred to as Northside Community Park.

Affordability and infrastructure reliability continue to be important conversations for growing communities across Texas.

We appreciate Bandera Electric Cooperative and CEO Bill Hetherington for their continued leadership and focus on delivering reliable, affordable service while investing in the future of the Texas Hill Country.

Programs like BEC’s Energy Saver Program are another example of efforts that help support both residents and businesses through practical energy-saving opportunities.

In his May message, CEO Bill Hetherington shares insights on the growing importance of energy affordability and how BEC is working to support members with reliable, cost-conscious power. ⚡

At Bandera Electric Cooperative, our focus has always been on our members. Alongside programs like fiber broadband, energy efficiency, and smart technologies, we’re committed to helping you better understand and manage your energy use—so you stay in control of your costs.

As electricity prices continue to rise, this focus is more important than ever, especially for lower- and middle-income households.
