Eleven years ago today, Denise Robert’s life was tragically taken, leaving behind a family and loved ones who continue to carry her memory and seek justice in her name.

Tonight, we light this candle to remember Denise, to honor her life, and to stand beside those who love her.

May her name never be forgotten, and may the light of her memory continue to shine as we wait for answers and justice.

Join us in wishing a happy birthday. Jonathan was last seen by his family at their residence in Arlington, on March 30, 2025 and then was seen again on a home surveillance camera around 11pm on June 23, 2025 in Kirkland, Washington.

Jonathan is a beloved son and brother who had a kind heart and gentle spirit. His family continues to search tirelessly for answers, holding onto hope that he will be found and brought home safely.

Today, we celebrate Jonathan and stand with his loved ones as they continue their search.

Happy Birthday, Haley Gray!

Today we’re celebrating someone who means so much to Light The Way and to me personally. Haley Gray is not only our incredible Assistant Director, a dedicated advocate, and someone who gives so much of her heart to the families we serve, she is also a dear friend.

Over the years, I’ve watched you pour your time, compassion, creativity, and heart into this mission. You show up for families, for our team, and for the people who need someone to keep their loved ones’ stories alive.

But beyond everything you do for Light The Way, I’m even more grateful for you. For your friendship, your support, your kindness, and all the laughs and moments we’ve shared along the way. Having you by my side through this journey has been such a gift!

Today, I hope you know just how loved, appreciated, and valued you are. You deserve to be celebrated not just today, but every day.

On August 27, 1978, a pair of hunters discovered the remains of a young woman in the woods near Elgin, Oregon.

Known as the Finley Creek Jane Doe, she is believed to have been between 17–25 years old, standing approximately 5’1”–5’3” tall, weighing 115–125 lbs, with sandy brown or blonde hair. Evidence suggests she may have been pregnant at the time of her death.

On August 27, 2021, Gabby Petito’s life was tragically taken, leaving behind a family, friends, and a community who continue to carry her memory and legacy.

Gabby was a vibrant, adventurous, and creative young woman who loved traveling, photography, nature, and making memories with the people she loved. She had a passion for exploring new places and dreamed of building a life filled with adventure, love, and purpose.

Those who knew Gabby remember her beautiful smile, kind heart, infectious energy, and the way she could light up a room. She was a beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, friend, and so much more to the people who loved her.

Although Gabby’s life was taken far too soon, her story has continued to inspire change. Her family has turned their unimaginable grief into advocacy, working to help others and ensure that Gabby’s legacy continues to make a difference.

Gabby’s life mattered. Her story matters. And her memory will continue to shine brightly.

Advocacy doesn’t have to be expensive to be effective. There are meaningful, free ways you can raise awareness, organize information, and invite help - without spending a cent.

Here are a few ways to advocate at no cost:

- Create a Linktree or central link hub: A single place to house important links - flyers, tip lines, petitions, media coverage, and updates - so information is easy to find and share.

- Start a page or group: Pages are useful for public awareness and updates. Groups can provide a more controlled space for community support, information sharing, and moderation.

- Build a timeline: Timelines organize known facts in chronological order. They help families, advocates, media, and listeners understand the case without speculation.

- Create a petition: Petitions can be used to demonstrate public concern, support specific requests, and show decision-makers that people are paying attention.

- Reach out to the media: Thoughtful, ethical outreach can help bring renewed attention to a case and reach people who may hold information.

- Work with a podcast or YouTube show: Podcasts and YouTube shows can help share a case with care and depth, especially when families are involved and boundaries are respected.

Each of these tools can be powerful on its own - but knowing when to use them, how to use them, and what to avoid matters just as much.
