One of the greatest joys of Christian Acres is watching young people grow up at camp, serve at camp, and then follow where God leads them next. ❤️

This year, we are excited to recognize the 2026–2027 recipients of the Rick & Joanna Mathena Scholarship: Chance Ferguson, Elijah May, and Nate Widner!

All three of these young men have roots at Christian Acres as past campers, volunteers, and staff, and each will be continuing his education at Bible college this school year.

During our Gospel Sing, we will receive a special offering for the Rick & Joanna Mathena Scholarship Fund. This scholarship allows us to come alongside young people from our camp family as they pursue biblical education and prepare for wherever God may call them to serve.

Your gift is more than a scholarship—it is an investment in the next generation.

🎶 GOSPEL SING AT CHRISTIAN ACRES! 🎶

We’re excited to welcome The Dave Melton Family to Christian Acres on Sunday, August 23! Come spend the afternoon with us and stay for a wonderful evening of worship, music, and encouragement.

🏊 3:00–5:00 PM — FREE swimming
🏀 Recreational Complex open for games
🍽️ 5:00 PM — Dinner
🎶 6:00 PM — Gospel Concert begins!

First day with no campers on the mountain… and Opie has officially been promoted to Camp Office Assistant. 🐾😂

His responsibilities currently include supervising paperwork, attending important meetings, greeting anyone who walks through the door, and making sure the treat supply stays fully stocked.

It’s hard to believe, but we’re down to the last 48 hours of church camp for the 2026 season.

Sunday we welcomed our youngest campers for First Chance on the Mountain! From 4:30 p.m. Sunday to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, these little ones will spend 48 hours making new friends, learning about Jesus, singing, playing, and experiencing camp for the very first time.

Please be praying for every camper, counselor, volunteer, and staff member as we finish this summer strong. Pray that hearts will be open to the Gospel, that lives will be changed, and that these children will leave knowing they are loved by God.

Thank you to everyone who has prayed, served, donated, and supported Christian Acres throughout this incredible summer. Let’s make these final 48 hours count for eternity. ❤️🏕️

🏆 Congratulations to our Campers of the Week! 🏆

Each week at Christian Acres, our staff has the privilege of recognizing a Camper of the Week and a Runner-Up Camper of the Week for both our boys and girls!

🌟 Our Campers of the Week receive a FREE week of camp next summer, and our Runners-Up receive HALF OFF a week of camp next summer!

But what does it take to be a Camper of the Week?

It’s about more than following the rules or having good behavior. Throughout the week, our staff watches for campers who participate, encourage others, lend a helping hand, show kindness, step outside their comfort zone, and go the extra mile—even when no one is asking them to.

Most importantly, we look for campers who are learning what it means to live like Jesus in the way they treat others, serve, participate, and carry themselves throughout the week.

Camp is full of games, swimming, worship, Bible lessons, friendships, and plenty of fun—but our greatest hope is that what happens on this mountain makes a difference long after campers go home. ❤️

We are so proud of this week’s recipients and the example they set for those around them. Congratulations! We can’t wait to have you back next summer! 🏕️❤️

🌳 “Zacchaeus was a wee little man, and a wee little man was he…” 🎶

If you’ve been to Christian Acres, you know Character Walk is one of those camp nights you don’t forget! Campers head out around the mountain and meet familiar characters from the Bible brought to life by our incredible volunteers.

Tonight, we found Zacchaeus! 🌳

He may have climbed a sycamore tree just hoping to catch a glimpse of Jesus, but Jesus already knew his name. He called Zacchaeus down, went to his home, and showed him a love that completely changed his life.

That’s what we want our campers to remember, too: Jesus sees you. Jesus knows you. And an encounter with Him can change everything. ❤️

Character Walk is so much more than costumes and storytelling. It gives our campers a chance to step into Scripture, hear these stories in a way they’ll remember, and discover that the same Jesus who changed lives in the Bible is still changing lives today.

And yes… we’re pretty sure every camper walked away singing, “Zacchaeus was a wee little man…” 😂🌳

It’s hard to believe we’re heading into our final week of summer camp—and we’re wrapping up the season with some of our youngest campers! 💛

FIRST CHANCE CAMP is the perfect opportunity for younger kids to get their first taste of camp life at Christian Acres!

First Chance campers check in on Sunday and spend two nights on the mountain—making new friends, playing, exploring, worshiping, learning about Jesus, and discovering just how much fun camp can be. 🌿☀️

Two nights is just enough time for a first camp adventure—and it might be the beginning of something they look forward to every summer!
