Wet Noses Animal Rescue We are a Foster based rescue in Blue Ridge, GA that pulls animals from high kill-shelters throughout the state and finds them loving homes.

Wet Noses Animal Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit headquartered in Blue Ridge, Georgia. Founded in 2020 by Abe and Tracey Abrams, we are a foster based rescue that pulls animals from high kill-shelters in the Atlanta area and find them loving homes. While we have a variety of breeds, ages, and sizes, we focus on senior, special needs, small dogs, and puppies. We rely on a volunteer network to help with our lifesaving work. Volunteers provide transportation (aka Freedom Rides) from county animal shelters to the rescue. Once an animal arrives, they receive full medical care, a lot of love, and behavioral support as they adjust to their foster home.

🚨🐾 $5 FRIDAY — 8 LITTLE LIVES LEARNING TO FEEL SAFE. 💔

Eight little souls. One urgent rescue. And a world they’re still too terrified to understand. 🥺💔

That’s 48 DOGS we have taken in over the last couple months from hoarding & backyard breeding….😭💔

These Shih Tzu mixes came to us from a backyard breeder situation, and right now, they’re scared of just about everything. They’ve never been properly handled or experienced the love and kindness every dog deserves.

So we’re letting them set the pace. ❤️

No forcing. No rushing. No expectations.

Just a quiet, safe space where they can decompress, observe, and decide for themselves when they’re ready to trust us. Every little step forward matters. 🩵💙

This is what rescue looks like sometimes. It’s patience. It’s compassion. It’s giving them the time they need, even when we wish we could take their fear away overnight.

💙 Can you help this sweet boy find his way home or find a safe place to land?

This handsome Shepherd mix was found as a stray in Lumpkin County, Georgia. He is approximately 8 months old, unneutered, and described as a very sweet boy! 🐶💙

Unfortunately, he has no tags and no microchip, and the Good Samaritan who took him in is unable to keep him.

🙏 We are hoping to help find his owner, a loving home, or a rescue organization able to take him in.

🚨 8 LITTLE LIVES. ONE URGENT RESCUE. 🐾💔

Another backyard breeder situation, and these 8 babies needed help FAST. There was no time to hesitate — we knew they needed us, and we were there. 💙🩵

Thankfully, the breeder became overwhelmed and made the right decision by reaching out for help. These Shih Tzu mixes are understandably scared, and everything around them is new and overwhelming. 🥺

Right now, their world needs to get a little smaller, quieter, and safer. They need time to decompress, learn to trust, and discover what it feels like to be safe, loved, and cared for. ❤️

Their ages are still unknown, but we’ll have more information to share once they’ve been vetted and had the time they need to settle in.

In the meantime, rescue takes resources. Vet care, food, and everything these babies need to start their new lives all add up. If you can contribute toward their care, every single dollar makes a difference! 🙏🐾

“My name is Spade. I am 7 months old. I am looking for my forever home. I have a high prey drive so I can’t be around my foster mom’s chickens, I think it’s really fun to chase them and stress them out. I love to be my persons shadow, whatever they are doing I’m in! I am high energy and would prefer my new people to be active. I am not a fan of the children variety. I am a little quirky and flighty( not aggressive, I just want to get out of situations I’m not comfortable in by bolting) I need my new family to be confident and committed to my training. I do well home alone as long as I get my two mile run in the morning. I don’t have the best decision making skills yet so I need someone who can set clear boundaries and teach me right from wrong while having lots of patience. I know I’m “special“ but there‘s someone out there for everyone, right?

🩵💚💙 $5 FRIDAY — EVERY $5 HELPS SAVE A LIFE 💙💚🩵

Rescue is not a business. We don’t make money doing this. Wet Noses Animal Rescue is strictly run on donations, grants, our rescue community, and people coming together to save lives.

Every single dollar goes directly toward the dogs who need us — transport, emergency medical care, surgeries, dentals, rehabilitation, food, medications, grooming, and everything it takes to give these dogs a safe place to heal and start over.

And right now, it is BAD. And honestly, it has been bad for a long time.

Rescues and Animal Controls across the nation are overwhelmed and at capacity. The number of animals needing help continues to grow, while the resources available to save them continue to shrink.

Day after day, we see the consequences:

💔 Backyard breeding
💔 Owner surrenders
💔 Hoarding cases
💔 Cruelty and abuse
💔 Neglect
💔 Abandoned dogs
💔 Dogs left tied to fences or trees
💔 Animals left hungry, sick, scared and alone

This is what we see every single day.

And yet… we keep going.

Because these dogs don’t have a voice.

They don’t understand why their family left them.
They don’t understand why they’re hurting.
They don’t understand why they’re hungry or scared.

They only know that someone finally came for them.

We are incredibly fortunate to have dedicated volunteers, veterinary partners, fellow rescues and Animal Control partners who stand beside us. ❤️

And while we care for these animals 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, Abe still has to work his regular full-time job to help keep everything afloat.

We are doing everything we can.

But we cannot do it without you.

So today, for $5 Friday, we’re asking our rescue family to come together.

If everyone who sees this gave just $5, it would make a tremendous difference.

$5 can become food.
$5 can help toward medication.
$5 can help with a medical bill.
$5 can help get a dog where they need to go.

And when hundreds of people come together, those little $5 donations become lifesaving. 🐾

We may not be able to save them all.

But we will never stop trying.

Because every dog deserves to know what it feels like to be safe.
To be loved.
To have a full belly.
To sleep without fear.
To finally have a family of their own.

🥺🥺😍 DAWWWW… SWEET BABY BOY ALERT!!!! 😍🥹🥹

Meet Munchkin! ❤️🥰

This sweet little guy came to us from the giant hoarding case, and he’s approximately 1 year old and only 13 pounds.

Munchkin is a Cavalier mix who is timid, but he is coming around beautifully. 🥹❤️ Everything is new for him, so he needs a patient, loving adopter who understands that dogs from situations like this are works in progress.

He needs someone who will give him the time, patience, reassurance, and love he deserves while he learns what it feels like to be safe. Once he trusts you, we believe this little guy is going to blossom. 🐾

Meet this tiny little sweetheart who weighs just 8 POUNDS and is ready to steal your heart! 💕🐶

She came to us through Animal Control when a breeder was being shut down, and now this precious girl deserves a chance to know what it means to be truly loved. ❤️

✨ A LITTLE ABOUT THIS CUTIE: ✨

🐾 Only 2 years old
🐾 Just 8 pounds of pure sweetness!
🐾 Loving, mellow, and easygoing
🐾 Loves cuddles and being held
🐾 Enjoys playing and exploring outside
🐾 Good with other dogs her size or even a little bigger

🐱 She hasn’t been cat-tested, but we suspect she may do just fine with proper introductions.

👶 She hasn’t been tested with children, and an adult home would be our preference for her if possible.

Honestly, there isn’t a negative thing to say about this little girl. She’s sweet, affectionate, easygoing, and just wants to be close to her people. 🥹💗

After coming from a breeder being shut down, she deserves so much more than the life she’s known. She deserves a soft place to land, loving arms to cuddle into, and a family who will cherish her forever. 🏡❤️
