Every Monday, we provide free meals for delivery on the Peninsula plus an in-person community supper.

Happy first day of June! And welcome to another delicious meal at the Simmering Pot.

TODAY WE ARE SERVING:
Smoky Bean and Lentil Vegan Soup
Vegetarian Spinach, Mushroom and Pesto Pasta Bake
Meaty Pasta Bake with Marinara
along with salad, fresh fruit, bread and cheese.

Come on over for eat-in or take-away from 2:30 PM today!

Special thanks to Four Season Farm for fresh salad greens and cucumbers (and Anna Wind for the special delivery),Tinder Hearth, and our other bakers, as well as all of our volunteers!

Also, enormous, thanks to our friends at the Northern Light Blue Hill Hospital for the yummy pasta salad going out to our delivery customers this afternoon - and all of the volunteer drivers going door-to-door!

Dear Neighbors,

Happy Soup Day! Come on over and visit us for some delicious Beef Vegetable Soup or maybe some GF/VG Veggie Lentil Soup.

Plus the cooking crew has prepared a gorgeous salad. sliced fresh fruit, cheddar cheese and home-baked bread from our volunteers and generous friends at Tinder Hearth. We also have a few desserts for you, while they last (thanks, sweetie bakers).

Eat in our dining hall or take away to the comfort of your own home. We are open from 2:30 to 6 PM.

Thank you to chef Ali and Asst. chef Jen, and all the volunteers on the cooking and serving crews at the First Congregational Church of Blue Hill. Additional kudos to the teams cooking and serving for our delivery program at the Halcyon Grange #345 along with our friends at Healthy Peninsula and all of the drivers who deliver food across the peninsula.

Did you know that today there are close to 50 volunteers hard at work making our community pots simmer? Thank you volunteers, one and all, and local farms and businesses that provide us with our healthy ingredients. ❤️❤️❤️

Happy Day, Dear Neighbors -

It's TACO SALAD DAY at our in-person meal at the First Congregational Church of Blue Hill today!! Woo HOO!! It's a favorite meal for most diners. Come on over!

We also have a small amount of soup, available on a first come, first serve basis.

And, of course, other delish sides. Thanks to all of the crews at the church today for all of the work they put into creating and serving this, and every meal, we offer.

Look out for photos highlighting our friends at the Northern Light Blue Hill Hospital who cooked today for our delivery program. Thank you, Barb and friends. You are the best!💗

Lastly, we are sending out enormous thanks to our friends at the Brooklin Garden Club for the gorgeous spring bouquets sent home with soup to every one of our delivery households and to the church for our tables. Happy Glorious Spring Day to All!

What a great day to play hooky from cooking and perhaps a few other responsibilities.…We’ve got you covered - At least for dinner…

Come on over to the First Congregational Church of Blue Hill between 2:30 and 6 PM today. You can eat-in while enjoying good company and beautiful flowers, courtesy of our friends at the Brooklin Garden Club🙏, or get take away to enjoy outside or at home.

Hey Neighbors - Delivery is ON tomorrow, thanks to our crew at the Halcyon Grange #345 and our friends at Healthy Peninsula BUT we will be CLOSED for in-person dining at the church tomorrow, the 20th.

We will see you again on the 27th!

Look what's been cooking at the First Congregational Church of Blue Hill kitchen today and its ready for you to come in and enjoy from 2:30 to 6 pm today.

Chicken, Lemon and Orzo Soup and
Lemony White Bean Veggie Soup

PLUS lots of sides to add to your meal and bread pudding with chocolate bits (!) while it lasts.

PLEASE NOTE: Our church location will be CLOSED NEXT MONDAY, April 20th! See you again on April 27th.

Tomorrow is the LAST DAY of the Hancock County Food Drive! The drive is raising $40,000 to be distributed between 16 food security organizations in Hancock County Food Drive - and The Simmering Pot is one of them.

Hey Neighbors,

We are open now until 6pm.

Come on over for Black Bean Soup (VG/GF and Frank Bianco’s delish Lasagna and King Hill Farm beef!!

And Frank baked blueberry crisp! Thank you, Bianco Provisions for your generous gift to our community!

And thank you Jen, Anne, Diddy, and the rest of the church crew, for taking over the kitchen today.

More thanks - BIG thanks - to Barb and the kitchen crew at the Northern Light Blue Hill Hospital for cooking 144 quarts of coup today for our delivery customers!

BTW, we will be closed for the church meal only (delivery is still on!)

Don’t forget to donate to the Hancock County Food Drive this week! Closing day is this coming Saturday.
