Today is National Nonprofit Day and we are honored to have been serving Sullivan County for 35 years!

We could not have made it to this milestone without the dedicated community members who decided to stand up for children all those years ago.

Each year our CAC is proud to partner with Sullivan County Department of Education, Kingsport City Schools, and Bristol Tennessee City Schools to bring Monique Burr Foundation's Child Safety Matters curriculum to all K-5 students.

These 5 Safety Rules are the foundation of the Child Safety Matters program. Parents and caregivers can help reinforce these topics at home by practicing with your elementary children.

"Behind every statistic is a child who deserves safety, hope and a future," Gena Frye, executive director of the Children's Advocacy Center of Sullivan County, said in a press release. "At the Children's Advocacy Center, we know that awareness isn't just education — it's protection. When communities understand the realities of human trafficking, they become part of the solution." ♥

Local groups partnered for the 2026 Red Sand Project to raise awareness about human trafficking on Wednesday afternoon.

Today we stood with our partners at the Sullivan County Regional Health Department for this year's Red Sand Project. ♥

Together we filled the cracks with red sand as a powerful reminder that human trafficking often happens in the unseen spaces of our communities, and that it takes all of us to recognize the signs, raise awareness, and protect those who are most vulnerable.
