AGAPE Love From Above To Our Community

AGAPE Love From Above To Our Community AGAPE is a non-denominational, faith-based mission to serve the people in our area.

Our Vision

The vision of AGAPE is to provide guidance and help to those in need. Based on a needs assessment completed on an individual and confidential basis, services may include counseling, education, supplementary disaster relief, evangelism, fellowship, financial aid, nourishment, and supplying household or other material necessities. AGAPE will also serve as a conduit for information and re

ferrals to other existing private and public community agencies, if appropriate. Our Code of Conduct

The Bible—Principle 1
We believe the Bible is the eternal, infallible, inerrant Word of God and is the Alpha and Omega for everything we say and do. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17
Staff and Volunteers—Principle 2
Our staff and volunteers are our most important resource and our means of building client relationships to meet needs with practical solutions which spiritually transform individuals and our communities. The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many. Matthew 20:28
Clients—Principle 3
Our clients are all whom Jesus calls us to serve. Knowing our clients, not just knowing about them, and meeting their expressed, unexpressed, and unknown needs with compassion, confidentiality and discipline is essential to achieving our vision. So in everything, do unto others what you would have them do unto you . . . . Matthew 7:12

Our Guide

35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
Matthew 25:35-36

🏠 MONTOUR COUNTY EMERGENCY SHELTER UPDATE 🏠

We are excited to share that in just two weeks, 4 guests have successfully transitioned from the Montour County Emergency Shelter into more stable housing opportunities! 🎉

While there is still much work ahead, these transitions represent exactly why this shelter was created—not just to provide a safe place to sleep, but to help individuals and families move toward stability, independence, and hope for the future.

Every housing placement is the result of hard work by our guests, dedicated case management, and the support of local agencies, staff, and volunteers who have stood beside us throughout this journey.

As we celebrate these successes, we also recognize that many guests are still working toward their own housing goals.

⚠️ VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Especially for overnight shifts.

Our shelter team continues to operate around the clock, and additional volunteer support is greatly needed. Whether you can give a few hours of your time, offer encouragement, or simply be a caring presence, your involvement makes a meaningful difference.

Volunteers not only provide much-needed relief to our hardworking shelter staff, but they also remind our guests that this community cares and has not forgotten them.

❤️ Four guests have found housing. Together, let’s help the next four.

A warm meal can provide more than nourishment. It can provide comfort, dignity, and connection. 💜

AGAPE’s Daily Bread program serves meals and provides food support for individuals and families throughout or community who may be struggling with food insecurity.

Every meal shared is an opportunity to remind someone they are seen, valued, and cared for.

Because no one should have to face hardship alone.

Pets are family too. 🐾💜

AGAPE’s Happy Tails program helps support Fresh Express clients by providing free pet food and supplies through partnerships with GOOD Charities/Rescue Bank and Smuckers.

For many families, caring for a beloved pet can become difficult during financial hardship. This program helps ensure pets remain safe, healthy, and cared for alongside the people who love them.

Registered pets are eligible during monthly Fresh Express distributions.

A safe, comfortable home can make a meaningful difference after a crisis.

Through Joseph’s Storehouse, AGAPE provides new and gently used household items at no cost to neighbors who are setting up a home after hardship. Available items may include beds, mattresses, bedding, furniture, appliances, tableware, pots, pans, and other household essentials.

Thanks to community generosity and partnerships with national retailers, AGAPE is able to collect and store these items, so support is ready when it’s needed most.
