**Sweet, laid-back, and a true survivor. Meet Mocha! 🐴💛**

"She's very kind, sweet, and laid-back, perfect for our therapeutic riding lessons," says Katie Borden, our Director of Equine Care. "And she has a luxurious mane and tail!"

Mocha's story is powerful. She's a former equine drill team performer, and she has beaten cancer three times: ovarian, eye, and skin.

Now she brings that strength to "Finding Calm with Horses," our cancer support group held with Cancer Support Community Central Ohio. Who better to walk alongside people facing cancer than a horse who's been there?

Some visits stay with you. 💙
Our miniature horses recently made their first-ever visit to Hospice House at Riverside Hospital, and the joy they brought to patients, families, and staff was something we'll never forget.
A gentle nuzzle. A held hand. A smile that hadn't been seen in a while. Sometimes comfort arrives on four small hooves.
Our minis can visit homes, care facilities, and hospitals to offer emotional and therapeutic support, including comfort for people who are grieving. And we're so honored to partner with HospiceHouse!
Thank you to and the amazing Hospice House team for welcoming us, and to our handlers and whole equine team for preparing our minis for moments like these.

Dreams on Horseback is pleased to welcome Caroline Ferguson to our team; she joins us from TROT at the Foothills Equestrian Center in NC, where she served as Head Instructor for their therapeutic riding program.

Caroline is a Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor (CTRI) through the Professional Assoc. of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH Intl.), as are our other therapeutic instructors, and is also an Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning, certified through PATH Intl. At Dreams, she will work directly with our riding instructors and teach in our therapeutic programs; help manage our volunteer and school programs; and lead our professional development, training, and assessments of staff, volunteers, and programming.

Dreams on Horseback is proud to be a PATH International Premiere Accredited Center, and the largest such equine therapeutic riding facility in the State. We are also proud of our dedicated, professional, and accredited staff who led over 35,000 participant hours of equine-assisted and centered learning last year.

Are you interested in volunteering with horses and/or participants with disabilities, and do you have access to a car?

Dreams on Horseback is a therapeutic riding facility in Blacklick, and we need volunteers for a variety of roles! Duties range from walking alongside riders and leading horses to barn care, facility maintenance, admin tasks, event setup, and more. No experience required. We're currently looking for more help with barn care. Tasks include cleaning stalls, sweeping, and filling water buckets. We most need help on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday mornings. We needed some storm recovery heroes and we got them! Found our mounting block and picnic table downstream of the sensory trail. Thanks to all who helped set the trail straight and get it ready for our riders to enjoy this fall! Thanks everybody!
