Bismarck Youth Baseball

Bismarck Youth Baseball BYB is a non-profit organization, serving 1200+ local youth between the ages of 5 and 19.

The league provides five divisions of play, designed for the needs of the players: The T-Ball division accommodates players that are six years of age; the Rookie Division accommodates players from seven to eight years of age; the AA Division accommodates players from nine to ten years of age; the AAA and Majors Divisions accommodate players from eleven to twelve years of age. League age is determi

ned by the age the child is on April 30 preceding the baseball season. This date is determined by a consensus of national baseball leagues, not a decision made by Bismarck Youth Baseball as an individual organization. The divisions are separate and distinct providing natural progression as the players learn the fundamentals of baseball.

🚨 HISTORY MADE 🚨

For the first time in Bismarck Youth Baseball history, we have surpassed 100 teams in a single season!

This summer, 1,269 players ages 5-19 are competing across 103 teams, making 2026 our largest season yet.

Every roster spot represents a young athlete who will learn, grow, compete, and create lasting memories on the baseball field.

Thank you to our families, coaches, volunteers, and community partners who continue to believe in our mission. This milestone belongs to all of you.

That's a wrap on the 2026 I-94 Summer Showdown! ⚾

Thank you to the 11 teams from North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, and Canada that traveled to Bismarck for a great weekend of baseball. We witnessed great competition, sportsmanship, and memorable performances throughout the tournament.

Congratulations to our tournament champions:

🏆 Gold Division Champions: Rapid City Post 22 Baseball Cadets

🏆 Silver Division Champions: Moorhead Youth Baseball 14U Black

We would also like to recognize our Day 2 and Day 3 Player of the Game recipients for their outstanding performances and contributions to their teams throughout the weekend. Congratulations on earning this well-deserved recognition!

A special thank you to our volunteers, coaches, umpires, families, and our community partners who helped make this event a success. We would also like to thank our facility partners, Bismarck Parks and Recreation District and Bismarck Public Schools, for helping us showcase our great facilities we have to offer in our community!

We are especially grateful to Sparkling Ice and Jerome Distributing Inc for sponsoring our Player of the Game awards.

This weekend, Bismarck Youth Baseball is hosting the I-94 Summer Showdown, featuring 11 talented 14U teams from North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, and Canada.

Day 1 of the tournament is in the books, and we'd like to extend a special thank you to Sparkling Ice and Jerome Distributing Inc for sponsoring our Player of the Game awards throughout the tournament. Their support helps make events like this possible and allows us to recognize outstanding performances on the field.

The Bismarck Youth Baseball INAUGURAL Hall of Fame class has been inducted - and we couldn't be more proud! 🏆

⭐ Tom Woodmansee -5 all-time pitching records. Still standing after 60+ years.
⭐ Neal Kalberer - Legion MVP. Drafted by the Twins. State Championship coach.
⭐ Gene Severson - Founded BYB from ONE field. Now 1,300+ players call this program home. Forever in our hearts, Gene. 💙
⭐ Butch Woodmansee - Struck out Lou Brock. Flew 747s. Member of the 1966 State Championship Team. Enough said.
⭐ Todd Baumgartner - Diamond to the golf course. Member of the 1966 State Championship Team. Two Hall of Fames. One Bismarck legend.

We also inducted the 1966 American Legion State Championship team that went 42-8 on the season and the best in North Dakota. Welcome home, 1966 Bismarck American Legion Team! 🥇

And a HUGE shoutout to our BYB travel teams recognized on the field during the Bismarck Governors baseball River Battle opener tonight presented by Scheels. You are the future of this program! 🙌
