Meet Coral, a Great Pyrenees mix pup who is deeply loyal to her foster family and incredibly calm as she experiences the world around her. She may not be white and fluffy like a Pyrenees, but she has the wonderful characteristics of one!

Breed results for Coral’s sister Sapphire show that these pups are likely a mix of 16 different breeds. The three top breeds are Great Pyrenees (28%), Husky (18%) and Mountain Cur (10%). (See the photos for the complete results.) Coral will likely be about 50-60 lbs. when full grown.

Coral’s mama Crystal was rescued right before she gave birth, and her puppies were born into a loving home on June 20. They will be four months old on October 20.

Coral is very mature for her age. She hangs out with older dogs in her foster home all day, and she doesn’t annoy any of them. She likes to play, but she also does her own thing. She’s independent, but she also loves attention from her foster mama. She loves to snuggle. Coral is fine meeting new people but she’s also fine ignoring them. Same with other dogs. She has been around cats and totally ignores them. She would do well in all kinds of homes, whether the home has kids, other dogs or cats.

Coral is crate trained and almost fully potty trained. She sleeps in her crate at night and doesn’t make a peep. She loves to eat and is highly food motivated. Coral rides great in the car and doesn’t get carsick. She has met every challenge with courage and sweetness!

Meet Zara, a 3-year-old husky mix who has all the best qualities of her breed — she’s a friendly, gentle and well-mannered dog who gets along splendidly with everyone, from humans to dogs to cats.

Zara is potty trained, crate trained and walks perfectly on a leash. Her manners are impeccable. Zara is really a perfect, turn-key-ready dog. She’s also a great size at around 40 lbs. full grown.

Zara isn’t your typical whiny husky, but she does talk to you when she’s excited to see you or when it’s dinner time. She’s also not your typical high-energy husky. She likes a leisurely walk and loves to play with other dogs, but she also enjoys cuddling on the couch with her human. During the hot summer months, she prefers to be inside the house relaxing. Her coat is long, but not quite as thick as your typical husky. We think she’s likely mixed with a fluffier dog breed like a Great Pyrenees.

🐾 **Mr. Wrinkles Needs a New Place to Land** 🐾

At 7 years old, Mr. Wrinkles isn't asking for much.
A comfy place to nap.
A leisurely walk.
People to love.
Maybe someone who appreciates a handsome, wrinkly gentleman. ❤️ And right now, he needs a **new foster or foster-to-adopt home.**

Mr. Wrinkles is a 55-lb Shar-Pei who comes with a pretty impressive résumé:

✓ Leash trained
✓ Dog friendly
✓ Calm, sweet, and easygoing
✓ Fully vetted and ready for his next chapter

He's past the puppy chaos and doesn't need a household built around entertaining him. Mr. Wrinkles is perfectly content hanging out with his people, enjoying his walks, and settling in for a good nap.

Basically, if you've wanted to foster but thought, *I don't know if I'm ready for a wild rescue dog…* **this guy would really like a word.**

🐾 **PET TIP TUESDAY: WHEN DO YOU NEED A DOG TRAINER?**

A lot of people call a trainer when they're completely out of options. The dog has bitten someone. The separation anxiety is destroying the house. The dogs in the home are fighting...

That's too late to START asking for help. You don't need to wait for a crisis to work with a trainer.

Consider calling one when:
**Your dog's behavior suddenly changes.
First stop is to your vet to rule out pain or illness, not meds.

**You're starting to avoid things because of your dog's behavior.
You skip walks, avoid other dogs, or can't have visitors.

**Your dog is showing fear, anxiety or reactivity.
Lunging, barking, freezing, hiding, guarding, and growling are information.

**There's tension between dogs in your home.
Repeated scuffles aren't something to let them “work out.”

**You're bringing home a baby, another pet, or making a major life change.
Training isn't only for fixing problems. A trainer can help you prepare your dog BEFORE their entire world changes.

**You have a puppy.
Seriously. You don't have to wait until your adorable puppy becomes an 80-pound adolescent who jumps on Grandma and has never heard the word “leave it.” 😂

**You simply don't know what to do.
That's enough of a reason.

And here's an important one:
**If you're considering surrendering your dog because of their behavior, CALL A TRAINER FIRST.**

Rehoming doesn't magically erase fear, anxiety, resource guarding, reactivity or other behavioral issues. In many cases, it simply hands the problem to the next person. A good trainer can help determine why the behavior is happening, teach you how to manage it safely, and tell you when a problem requires additional support.

**Don't wait for the crisis. Ask for help while you still have options.**

🐾 Meet Jasmine! 🐾

Sweet Jasmine is a little bundle of love who is looking for a family of her very own! 💕 Born around the beginning of July, Jasmine is approximately 50% Great Pyrenees/Bully mix, with a little bit of everything else mixed in to make her one-of-a-kind!

Jasmine absolutely LOVES other dogs and would be a wonderful little sister to a friendly canine companion. She loves having a furry friend to play with and would thrive in a home where she can continue to enjoy the companionship of another dog. 🐶❤️

She is also expected to do wonderfully with children and has the sweetest, most loving personality. Jasmine is currently working hard on her crate training and house training, and she is doing really well! She’s also learning her manners and is already practicing sitting and waiting patiently before she gets her meals. What a smart girl! 🥰

Like any young puppy, Jasmine will need a family who is ready to continue her training, socialization, and puppy adventures. In return, she promises to fill your home with puppy kisses, playful moments, and lots of love.

Meet Scout, a 1-year-old golden retriever/husky mix who is extremely good natured and the biggest cuddle bug.

Scout is potty trained, crate trained and ready to impress his new family with his good-dog skills, loving demeanor or sometimes silly antics. Scout is just a joy to be around! He always looks like he’s smiling

Scout is also the perfect medium size at 46 lbs full grown. He’s super food motivated and very easy to train. He will do anything for a treat!

Scout loves going on walks and enjoys playing with other dogs, but his favorite pastime is cuddling with his human. He is his foster mom’s shadow, always wanting to be wherever she is. Scout is also good around cats and children.

Meet Links!

Links is an adorable gray tabby boy born in July who currently weighs about 5 lbs. He and his sister, Butters, were found on a rainy night abandoned on a dirt road in rural Alabama, but this little survivor hasn’t let his rough start dim his bright spirit.

True to his name, Links is fast as lightning! He loves racing around, climbing the cat tree, and turning playtime into his own little adventure. When the zoomies are over, he’s just as happy being held and will reward you with a loud, happy purr.

Links is a fun-loving, sweet kitten who enjoys both playtime and affection. He’s also litter box trained and ready to settle into a loving forever home.

If you’re looking for a playful little buddy who will keep you entertained and then curl up purring in your arms, Links might be your perfect match. 🐾🐱

Meet Bernie!

Bernie is a 4-year-old, 70 lb Pit Bull mix with a happy spirit and a big love for people. This good boy is housebroken, crate trained, and perfectly content living the indoor life where he can be close to his humans. Bernie absolutely adores people and does great with kids—he’s the kind of dog who’s always excited to see you and ready to join in whatever the family is doing.

Bernie has a playful personality and enjoys a good rough-and-tumble play session. Because of his energetic play style, he would do best with a laid-back female dog who doesn’t mind a little roughhousing, or he’d also be perfectly happy soaking up all the attention as the only dog in the home. He previously lived with an older, confident female Lab and got along with her just fine.

One thing to know about Bernie—cats are a little too interesting to him, so a cat-free home is best.
