So, this. Some of you may or may not know that for two years, one month and 21 days is that I have a permanent new normal. It occurred four days after our state convention as incoming DG for my district. I was more seriously ill than I let on, but we as a team had a super year, got a lot of service done, had fun, they had my back in everything and medically, things stabilized.
Now just finishing up year two as council chair, and two years worth of research, speaking with those with disabilities, accessibility professionals, my medical team (there are many π) and first hand experience, below is a culmination with the help of AI for graphic layout and polish, two flyers that I hope that Lions and Leos...clubs, district and multiple district can use to learn, refer to and apply to help those Lions and Leos with visible and invisible disabilities with opportunities to serve.
An inclusive Lions and Leos environment recognizes that members may need flexibility, understanding, and accommodations to continue serving, learning, teaching and leading. It's easy to say, someone is too old, they are failing, their disability prevents them for doing much, but I say...you have an untapped potential of current and prospective Lions and Leos to serve! If you'd like an email of these flyers, email me at: [email protected]
Ability Included. Service Unlimited.
