There’s still time to be part of Simply Us: A Portrait Exhibit Celebrating Connection & Belonging, benefiting Youth Crossroads!

We’re looking for families, couples, siblings, parents and children, friends, and loved ones to celebrate the relationships that matter most. Selected portraits will be featured in our Fall Exhibit on November 7th!

🎒 Back-to-School Fiesta is Almost Here! 🎒

Youth Crossroads is proud to partner with the Office of Illinois State Senator Javier Loera Cervantes to bring TWO FREE Back-to-School Fiesta events to our communities, helping students and families prepare for a successful school year.

🌸 Brightening someone's day, one flower at a time! 🌸

Last week, beautiful flowers were distributed to members of our senior community, bringing smiles, kindness, and a reminder that they are appreciated. Small acts of generosity can make a meaningful difference, and we're grateful to everyone who helped spread a little joy today.

Thinking about jumpstarting your career in the growing CDL industry? Our Skill Bridge Trade Program offers low-income youth ages 18-24 who reside in Cook County the opportunity to gain valuable training, earn while they learn, and get connected to job opportunities in just 8 weeks! Tuition is paid for by Youth Crossroads, so you can earn your license FOR FREE! Additionally, all participants are paid a $1,300 stipend at the end of their training. If you're eager to build the skills for a successful career with a Commercial Driver's License, the Skill Bridge Trade Program is the perfect opportunity for you! Jumpstart Your CDL Career with our Skill Bridge Program!

Anticipated Training Dates: August 3 - September 20, 2026
Averaging about 26 hours per week, classes are flexible and based on your availability.
Training is offered 7 days a week from 8:30 AM - 6:30 PM
Week 1-Summit, IL; Weeks 2-8-Bridgeview, IL

Program Highlights:
Attend a free CDL training program in the Chicagoland area with hands-on instruction from experienced instructors
Complete training with supportive services provided throughout the program
Feel confident starting your journey as a truck driver, with classroom instruction, driving, skills training, and observation.
Candidate Profile:

Must attend mandatory onboarding/orientation session
Must be between the ages of 18-24
Must be a resident of Cook County
Must have a valid Driver's License and Social Security Card

🌱 Day 3 of our Service Trip Recap!

Day 3 brought us to one of the most impactful and inspiring stops of our trip — Providence Park. This innovative community is creating a long-term solution for individuals experiencing chronic homelessness by building 400 tiny homes, along with access to healthcare, community spaces, gardens, and more.

Our youth leaders had the opportunity to learn about the vision behind the project, tour the first completed spaces, and take part in the early stages of bringing this community to life. Throughout the day, students supported in the community garden, mulched garden beds, painted buildings, assembled care bags, and even worked alongside a local artist to create paintings that will help brighten the new homes.

It was a long and hot day, but our students left inspired by this new model of community care and reminded of the many ways service can create lasting change.

To celebrate a job well done, we ended the day at Main Event with bowling, arcade games, laser tag, and pizza — a well-earned night of fun after a full day of impact! 🎳🍕✨
