Volunteers Needed at The Nest Community Closet!

The Nest is a free children’s clothing closet serving local families, and we’re looking for more helping hands!

We welcome volunteers of all ages and abilities; grandparents, parents with kids in tow, teens, and other community members are all welcome. There’s a place for everyone here.

Volunteer tasks are matched to your availability and abilities, and may include:
• Sorting and organizing clothing donations
• Hanging and sizing clothes
• Tidying the space
• Light cleaning or setup help
• Greeting families during open hours

Current volunteer opportunities:
📅 Tuesdays: 9:00–11:30 AM (during open hours) + 4:30–6:30 PM
📅 Wednesdays: 9:00–11:00 AM
📅 Some Saturdays: Hours vary

🚗 Car Seat Donations Needed at The Nest Community Closet

Did you know we accept car seat donations?

Right now, we have 7 local families waiting for convertible car seats (rear-facing/forward-facing seats used after infant “bucket” seats).

We can accept car seats that are:
✅ Not expired
✅ Never involved in an accident/crash
✅ Smoke-free

How to check if a seat is expired:
Look for a sticker with the manufacture or expiration date on the side, back, bottom, or under the buckle pad. Most seats expire after 5–10 years.

Donation options:
📍 Drop off during open hours at The Nest
• Tuesdays: 9 AM–11:30 AM
• 2nd Saturdays: 9 AM–11:30 AM

🚗 Local pickup may be available — message us to arrange.

📦 24/7 entryway drop-off:
245 Millers Falls Rd, Northfield, MA
(our other locations are not shielded from the elements)

En este momento, tenemos 7 familias locales esperando sillas de auto convertibles (aquellas que permiten orientación hacia atrás y hacia adelante, y que se usan después de los portabebés tipo "huevito").

Podemos aceptar sillas de auto que cumplan con lo siguiente:
✅ Que no hayan caducado
✅ Que nunca hayan estado involucradas en un accidente o choque

Cómo saber si una silla ha caducado:
Busca una etiqueta con la fecha de fabricación o de caducidad en el lateral, la parte trasera, la base o debajo de la almohadilla de la hebilla. La mayoría de las sillas caducan después de 5 a 10 años.

It’s almost here- Kids Day at the Farmers Market is Saturday!!!!

🌶️🥕 Farm and artisian vendors 9- 1 with seasonal produce, eggs, maple products, woven goods, jewelry, and more!
🕺🪩 Family all ages dance party at 10:15 with Marcy from Marcy Gregoire and Adam Zucker.
🧦👕 FREE kids and infants clothing from the Nest CommunityCloset starting at 10.
🧶🍋 Kid vendors from 11-1 (some earlier) with all the things- lemonade, mystery soap, future farmer, bracelets, wish braids, slime, earrings, and more! Come support a great group of local kid entrepreneurs.
🧑‍🧒‍🧒🌯 Community gathering and potluck with the The Village Project - MA starting at 11 and continuing until 4.

Please stay tuned to our channels- if it is raining kids days activities will be rescheduled for later in the season.

We’d also like to take a moment to thank the The Brick House Community Resource Center for the financial support that has helped to make this possible.
