What does it take to walk 50 miles for a cause? 🇺🇸

For Bennington’s Dale McGavran, a retired Air Force veteran completing his sixth 50 Mile March, the answer is deeply personal. Meanwhile, retired paramedic and Legion member Larry Arp had a front-row seat to the incredible determination of participants, including one who completed the entire 50 miles in a wheelchair.

Bennington boys tennis is making history this season 🎾

The Badgers are taking the court for the first time ever as Bennington’s newest high school athletic program. With more players trying out than expected and many athletes learning the game for the first time, the team is already building its foundation.

🏈 Badgers open their Class A season with a statement!

Bennington rolled past familiar rival Elkhorn North 42-13 on Thursday night in both teams’ first game at the Class A level. Ty Bouaphakeo was electric, the defense locked it down in the second half, and Coach Kam Lenhart had plenty to say after the win: “A little bit of everything… offense, defense, all coming together.”

From a third-place finish in the Class A division at Beatrice to personal bests, medal-winning performances and a few valuable lessons at the Crusader Classic in Benson, the Badgers are continuing to improve as the season moves forward.

It’s more than just a scoreboard. 👀🏈

Bennington High School’s stadium has a major new addition: a state-of-the-art videoboard made possible in large part by a $300,000 investment from the Bennington Public Schools Foundation.

The approximately $390,000 project replaces the aging scoreboard, but the new board is expected to do much more than keep score. From athletics and marching band to graduation, student recognition and more, the possibilities extend well beyond game day.
