We love seeing the impact of our newly added TeamMates Book Vending Machines at our Middle Schools. Today, Mrs. Sorrows was able to reward her 7th Grade Reading Leaders with a NEW book of their very own and she sent us this picture with her email:

Our top ten 7th grade reading leaders at BMS earned a free novel this morning from our new book vending machine. Together, they earned a total of 2,999.9 points over their 7th grade school year!

Way to go, Readers! We are so excited TeamMates was able to help celebrate your love for reading! Enjoy your new book!

Bennington Daze PARADE WALKERS WANTED!

Parade details: Saturday, 6/6/26. Parade line up will begin at Bennington High School at 9:30 a.m. We will walk and hand out candy! Please complete the form linked below if you wish to participate.

How long does the parade last?
The parade starts at 11 a.m. and is usually about an hour but can run a little longer depending on the number of entries.

We've been telling their story for years. Caleb and Stan have shared their TeamMates journey through our National Chapter of the Year video, through our BPS Staff Give Campaign and on stage at the TeamMates National Celebration Gala. These two have been matched since 2019 and have built the bond of a lifetime. Its a bittersweet close to this chapter. We will be cheering Caleb on as he travels to Iowa State University to study Criminal Justice and we will miss him immensely. Caleb has been one of TeamMates of Bennington's biggest cheerleaders and his advocacy as a Mentee has been instrumental in our impact with BPS students and staff.

When asked how has your Teammates Mentor impacted your life, Caleb said this:

Stan has helped me realize just how special I am and how to share those talents with people. He has also helped me not focus as much about what other people think about me or the things I do.

What do you think we can do to improve the Bennington Teammates experience?

I think that the Teammates Program is phenomenal. One thing though. Can we have more field trips? Please?

Its no secret that the way to Caleb's heart was food and fun TeamMates outings. 😄

Caleb and Stan have worn the TeamMates badge proudly and while we know they are friends for life, we will miss the energy and presence of their match here in Bennington.

Bennington TeamMates wrapped up another successful school year with its annual bowling celebration at Maplewood Lanes in Omaha! 🎳 This year’s event welcomed a record-breaking 126 mentor/mentee participants!

The celebration also included a surprise presentation from Bennington’s 100 Women Who Care with their $4,600 donation, showing once again the incredible support this community has for local students and mentorship programs.

TeamMates of Bennington Pen Pal Service 2026.

Hey, Matches! We heard you and we are excited to keep you connected over summer break through our TeamMates Pen Pal service!

Pen Pal Instructions:
1. Take a set of Pen Pal postcards.
2. Write your match a message on the postcard.
3. Deliver your postcard to the little Red Mailbox at the BPS District Office.
(Address: 11620 N. 156th ST. Hours Monday-Friday 9a-4p)
4. Megan will mail each postcard to the appropriate recipient.
5. Repeat until August 7th. (Match Meetings will resume September 8th)

To honor our Core Values of Safety, Integrity and Trust, ALL postcard communication will be monitored by TeamMates of Bennington staff. Our little Red Mailbox will be checked three times a week. Pen Pal service will run June 1st- August 7th.

Back in the Summer of 2024 Alessandra self nominated to become a Mentee with TeamMates here in Bennington. At the same time, her mom Cassandra decided to become a Mentor… Shortly after, along came Johnny and Austin, ready to jump into mentoring. Read what Cassandra shared about the impact Bennington TeamMates has had on her family and the sweet photo opp she had with her daughters and their Mentors at our End of Year Bowling Celebration! Thank you for sharing these words, Cassandra!!

Another year with Teammates Mentoring Program and honestly… it just keeps proving that it really does take a village. 💙

So thankful to be part of something positive, caring, supportive, and full of people who truly show up for kids. Huge shoutout to the amazing ladies who mentor my girls, encourage them, listen to them, and probably survive all the nonstop talking and chaos too. 😂

It’s easy to get caught up in everyday life, but being part of something that can truly change someone’s life? That’s the good stuff. The kind of thing that matters. The kind of thing you never regret being part of.

Grateful for the friendships, the laughs, the life lessons, and the reminder that good people still exist everywhere. Here’s to another year of building confidence, making memories, and proving that a little kindness and time can go a long way. 💫

126 of our TeamMates Friends took over Maplewood Lanes for our 5th Annual End of Year Celebration! We had an absolute blast and are so grateful for the team at Maplewood Lanes. They take such good care of us and make sure we have the very best time wrapping up our year! 💙🎳
