We've got some exciting summer program news for tweens/teens ages 12-17: Our in-demand babysitter training certification program is now being offered this summer! 🍼 We're already filling up for this one-day training, available on TWO unique days: July 7 and July 8! Pick what's best for your kiddo!

Babysitter training is fantastic for equipping middle and high schoolers with skills, plus building confidence, resumés and earning potential! 💲This training sells out quickly during the school year and is expected to do the same this summer! 🚀

Tumalo Day Camp is run entirely by volunteer camp counselors, and to show our immense gratitude, dependents of our adult volunteers get to attend camp for FREE! 🙌🏕️

💚 HEART-MELTING NEWS: SummerKids starts NEXT WEEK! 💚

Look at these sweet faces! If this photo doesn't capture the pure joy of being outside, making friends, and loving summer, we don't know what does. 🫶✨

But here is the catch: We are officially down to the wire. Next week, the fun officially begins, and so in the spirit of welcoming as many kiddos and teens as possible, we’ve opened up more spots for some weeks, some grades of SummerKids! If you’ve been putting it off or think we are full, this is your final reminder to lock in their summer plans before this precious time slips by! Don't miss out this summer! Camp Fire Central Oregon is recruiting for its legendary Tumalo Day Camp—a must-do for ! Part of what makes this so magical is the crew of volunteer camp counselors who pour their heart and soul into this 30+-year-old tradition, which serves kids ages Pre-K thru Grade 7 in a small group setting along the Deschutes River and under the beautiful pines. Held at Tumalo State Park just outside Bend, OR, this is a must-do for anyone who has a passion for youth and a true interest in helping them thrive, igniting their curiosity, confidence, and compassion! 🌈😎Volunteer in July 20-24 or August 24-28 for one incredible weeklong session, or, even better, do both sessions if you wish! 🙌

Some weeks they're astronauts. Some weeks they're chefs. Some weeks they're scientists on a slime mission. Every week, they're outside, with new friends, having the kind of summer they'll talk about all school year. ☀️

SummerKids is Alliance for Camp Health MESH-certified and is meticulously designed with your child in mind: 10 weeks of themed adventures for 1st – 6th graders — Astronauts & Aliens, Go for Gold (our 2026 Summer Olympics!), Plant Your Roots, Gross & Gooey science, Meet the Artists, SK Takes the Stage, and more. 5th and 6th graders get weekly field trips. Everyone gets games, crafts, outdoor exploration, and time to just *be a kid*.

In small groups of 8-12, our staff help every camper build character, find their spark, and practice the social skills that make next school year smoother. (And yes — there's a Zen Zone for big-feelings days.)

Not'cho Grandma's Bingo was a BLAST. Thank you to everyone who packed Silver Moon Brewing on Sunday to play, laugh, and support Camp Fire Central Oregon's youth programs and scholarship fund.
