Trauma doesn't have one appearance.

For men and boys, trauma may show up through anger, withdrawal, distrust, substance use, risk-taking, or behavioral challenges.

These behaviors don't automatically mean someone has experienced trafficking. But they can be signals that something deeper may be happening.

Instead of asking, “What's wrong with him?”

Try asking:

“What might have happened to him?”

El trauma no tiene una sola apariencia.

En hombres y niños, el trauma puede manifestarse a través de la ira, el aislamiento, la desconfianza, el consumo de sustancias, las conductas de riesgo o los problemas de comportamiento.

Estas conductas no significan automáticamente que alguien haya sido víctima de trata. Pero pueden ser señales de que algo más profundo podría estar ocurriendo.

En lugar de preguntar: “¿Qué le pasa?”

Intenta preguntar:

“¿Qué podría haberle sucedido?”

For young people experiencing homelessness, moments of comfort and connection can mean so much. Scout, a hardworking service animal, brings plenty of both. 🐶 His friendly presence offers youth a chance to relax, laugh, and experience the simple comfort of having a furry friend around reminding us that sometimes, a wagging tail can brighten even the hardest day.
