Students are learning that God will provide everything they need. In the New Testament, Jesus said that He is the Bread of Life (John 6:31–35). God provided manna from Heaven for His people’s physical hunger, and later He provided His Son, Jesus, for our spiritual hunger. The Israelites needed bread to live for a little while, but whoever has Jesus will live forever!

Last week in LifeWise, students got to step into the shoes of the Israelites as they heard Moses tell Pharaoh again and again, “Let my people go!” And every time, Pharaoh said “No!”

Before Pharaoh finally let them leave, God sent 10 plagues on Egypt. Through those plagues, God showed the Egyptians that He is the one true God and that His power is real.

Sometimes we’re like that too - we want proof before we trust God. The Bible tells us that God showed His love for us in a powerful way: while we were still sinners, Jesus died on the cross for us (Romans 5:8). Jesus took the punishment we deserved so that when we trust Him, we can receive His blessing: life forever with God.

As we approach Easter, our classes are taking a break from their regular study to focus solely on Christ's sacrifice for us. Teachers are focusing on the character word ❤️LOVE❤️- choosing to support and care for others whether or not they deserve it.

God knows how it feels to be hurt by people because we hurt God with our sin. We turn away and
disobey Him. But when we believe that Jesus died on the cross for our sins, God forgives us. He doesn’t keep any record of our sins any more.
Because we know what it’s like to be forgiven (by God and by others), we can forgive others for hurting us, too. Forgiveness means that, instead of making someone pay for hurting us, we give up our right to punish
them.

LifeWise students talked about perseverance - refusing to give up even when things are hard.

They read about how God sent Joseph to Egypt and continued to bless him, even through some really difficult seasons. In time, Joseph rose to a position of great power, and God used him to save his family and many others from starvation.

They also talked about how Jesus gave up His position of great power to come to earth and be the Savior of the world. What an incredible picture of God’s plan and His love for us. 💙

As much as we’re missing being together for LifeWise classes, everyone's safety comes first. With the road conditions, we’ve decided to cancel classes this week. We’re already looking forward to seeing everyone back next week and can’t wait to be together again!
