✨TESTIMONY TUESDAY✨
Paul Nash:
I grew up in Kensington, Philadelphia—a neighborhood where drugs and addiction were part of everyday life. My mom worked incredibly hard to get my sister and me out of that environment and give us a better life. Looking back, I realize what an incredible sacrifice that was.
Even after we left, addiction slowly found its way into my life. What started as partying as a teenager eventually turned into alcoholism and addiction. Then, after losing my mom to cancer, my life completely spiraled out of control. For years I lived in a cycle that I couldn’t break.
On April 25, 2025, I found myself lying in a detox center, completely broken and going through some of the worst withdrawals of my life. In that moment, I cried out to God and surrendered everything. I told Him, “Lord, I’ll go wherever You send me.”
Just a couple of weeks later, on May 7, 2025, God led me to Hope Center Ministries in Ohio—and that decision changed my life forever.
Hope Center didn’t just help me overcome addiction. It rekindled my relationship with Jesus Christ. It taught me how to love myself the way God loves me and gave me a heart of compassion for others. Within my first couple of months, I was blessed to become the house manager. That role meant so much because I knew exactly what it felt like to walk through those doors scared, anxious, confused, and wondering if life could ever be different.
Over the next year, God transformed every area of my life. My faith grew deeper than I ever thought possible. I had the privilege of serving in my church, earned my driver’s license for the first time at 41 years old, bought my first vehicle, and became a productive member of society again. In May 2026, I graduated from Hope Center Ministries.
Today, I’m serving as an intern director with the hope of one day leading a Hope Center of my own. My greatest desire is to share my testimony with men battling addiction and show them that no one is too far gone. Through Jesus Christ, surrender, and the structure of a Christ-centered life, transformation is possible.
If you’re reading this and you feel hopeless, know this: God is still in the business of changing lives. I’m living proof that He can take someone who was broken, addicted, and without direction and give them a brand-new purpose.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, behold, the new has come.” — 2 Corinthians 5:17
