Bellingham Friends of Music BFOM, a non-profit organization, supports band, chorus, & color guard programs in Bellingham schools. Our purpose is to:

1.

Bellingham Friends of Music’s mission is to contribute to Bellingham band, chorus, and color guard programs by supporting them financially and otherwise. Our goal is to provide the program and students access to lesson scholarships and opportunities to expand their learning and enrich their time in the Bellingham music program. Promote the best possible music education for all students;
2. Broaden

the cultural opportunities of the students;
3. Increase the performing and creative skills of students through exposure to all forms of music;
4. Provide incentives for those students with extraordinary musical talent;
5. Make scholarships available to graduating seniors pursuing higher education who have participated in one or more of the programs for the band, chorus, or color guard. BFOM OFFICERS

All music parents (Band, Chorus & Guard) with students in grades 5 through 12 are encouraged to volunteer and support BFOM events. Please join us at a meeting or email an officer for more information. Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of the month at 7pm via Zoom.

It is with immense pride and heartfelt gratitude that the Ian Shumaker Foundation had the privilege of donating $3000 to the Bellingham Friends Of Music this year. When Ian joined the Bellingham music department, he discovered his true passion and found his happy place. Our family will forever be indebted to the life-changing experiences, friendships, and opportunities that flourished through the music program. Our mission is to nurture this love and enthusiasm of music for future students within the Bellingham school system. We extend our deepest appreciation to our supporters who helped make this milestone possible and enabled us to make a lasting impact. 💚💚💚💚

We’re looking for volunteers to help run the concession stand at our upcoming dance show this weekend! 🎭✨

Every snack and drink sold directly supports the Bellingham music program—helping provide instruments, opportunities, and experiences for our students. With state budget cuts impacting the next couple of years, every single dollar truly makes a difference.

Whether you can give a little time or a lot, we would be so grateful for your help. It’s a fun, fast-paced way to support an amazing cause and be part of a great community event! National Honor Society members, this event qualifies for service hours.

If you’re not able to volunteer, you can still help by donating concession stand items—every contribution helps us raise more for the program.

Bellingham Friends of Music is looking for volunteers to step into key board positions for the upcoming year. Without these roles filled, we will not be able to continue supporting the amazing music, chorus, and color guard programs our students enjoy.

We are currently seeking volunteers for the following positions:
• President
• Vice President
• Treasurer

These programs depend on the support of our parents and community. Bellingham Friends of Music helps fund lessons, trips, events, transportation, and scholarships for our students.

If you have a student in band, chorus, or color guard, or you simply want to help, please consider stepping forward.
