Well Being Action for Youth Building Mental Wellness Through Community Connection

11/28/2025

Enjoy this powerful clip from Rafael Campos (MBA, MPP, MPS — Principal & Founder, Campfire Advisory Group; Former Deputy Director of Public Engagement, Office of the Surgeon General) as he shares what he sees as the biggest barrier to building trust across generations.

His insight? Language is everything.

Rafael reminds us that real connection often begins with being willing to step outside our comfort zones, meet people where they are, and ask genuine questions that lead us to common ground.

Happy WellPOWER Wednesday!

This week, we’re excited to highlight Building Daily Connection Through Small Questions from our friends at The Kids Mental Health Foundation.

It’s incredible how much can shift when we show genuine curiosity about a child’s inner world. By choosing just one type of day and one thoughtful question, you can gently guide everyday conversations into deeper, more meaningful connection.

We invite you to try this simple practice at home and let us know how it supports you and your family.

With Giving Tuesday on the horizon, we wanted to take a moment to share the heart behind our mission.

Over the last six months, we’ve been on a powerful journey of expansion. Building on our strong foundation, we’ve been inspired to take youth mental wellbeing—and the wellbeing of their entire circle of care—even further through the creation of The WAY Forward Hub and the growth of our WellPOWER events.

We invite you to take a moment to learn more about the inspired direction we’re moving in and the work ahead. And we hope you’ll join us on this journey as we continue creating tools, conversation starters, and connection points for families and youth everywhere.

Let’s build connection, resilience, and community—together.

We’re excited to share a quick tutorial on how to explore the new WAY Forward Hub!

You can access the Hub directly at wellbeingforyouth.org. When you arrive, you’ll be prompted to complete a short Feelings Check — your response helps us curate tools tailored to your needs.

From there, you can browse content through our three pillars: Mindful Awareness, Active Listening, and Compassionate Curiosity. The colored symbols along the bottom of the screen represent each pillar and help guide your experience.

Inside the Hub, you’ll find conversational aids, hands-on practices, and supportive tools. Some resources were developed in-house, while others come directly from our research-backed partners: The Shine Hope Company, The Kids Mental Health Foundation, and Climate Mental Health Network.

Each article highlights which pillars it supports and includes either a video, a downloadable graphic for deeper reflection, or an engaging practice you can try at home.

We’d love to hear from you — what will you explore first? Or if you’ve already visited, what’s been your favorite discovery so far?
