A Spencer Moment 💙
In 2016, we celebrated Maddy’s graduation with our first family trip to Maui.
One evening at sunset, after hearing the traditional conch shell ceremony, Spencer decided he was going to do his own version from our condo.
The result? Pure Spencer.
He laughed so hard trying to make it work that soon all of us were laughing too.
When we think of Spencer, these are the moments we hold onto—the joy, the laughter, and the way he could turn an ordinary evening into a memory we'll cherish forever.
This video is a reminder that while time passes, the love, the laughter, and the memories remain.

We are beyond grateful to LifeCenter Northwest for sponsoring the Front Row Cruiser VIP Parking at our Cruise-in for 22 car show on Saturday, July 18 at Chambers Bay.
LifeCenter Northwest's mission is one that is deeply personal to our family. Through Spencer's gift of organ donation, more than 50 lives were saved and healed. Their work helps create hope, healing, and second chances for families every day.
As we gather to celebrate Spencer's 25th Heavenly Birthday in a place he grew up loving, we'll also be raising awareness for the causes that are part of our mission at the Spencer Durbin Legacy Foundation:

“Everything happens for a reason.”
Spencer got this tattoo in Maui — his favorite place in the world.
He wanted it in his mom’s handwriting, so those words would always feel personal… always feel like home.
At the time, it marked something really important to him: celebrating his sobriety, healing, and a fresh chapter in life. We were all together on that trip, laughing, making memories, and soaking in a moment that none of us knew would become so sacred.
Now, after Spencer’s passing, several of us wear the exact same tattoo.
Same words. Same handwriting. Same placement.
And even more meaningful — we went back to the exact same artist, Siobhan, at Sweet Trade Tattoo in Maui.
She still keeps Spencer close.
His picture and the pamphlet from his service are displayed at her station in Lahaina — a reminder that his heart and story continue to live on, even across an ocean.
This tattoo became more than ink.
It became connection.
A promise.
A reminder that even through heartbreak, love keeps showing up in the most unexpected ways.
If you are ever in Lahaina, please look up Sweet Trade Tattoo and give Siobhan some love. She became part of Spencer’s story — and part of ours. 🤍

This is what it’s all about.

A weekend of lacrosse, meaningful conversations with youth players, and community coming
together at Chambers Bay. Buddy the Berner proudly wore Spencer’s #22 practice pinnie and made plenty of new friends along the way.

Thank you to UP Lacrosse for giving us the opportunity to share SDLF and Spencer’s story with
the community. And a huge thank you to Go Philly, Jed’s Big Slice, Tacos Mirrey, The
Corndoggery, Iscreamery, and Grit & Grace Coffee for donating a portion of your proceeds to
support our mission.

Thank you for helping us keep Spencer’s heart in the game.

What started from heartbreak became a promise — to keep Spencer’s heart alive through action. 💙

Spencer believed in standing up for others, on and off the field. From playing for South Sound Lacrosse as a kid to returning as a coach to pour into the next generation, he led with heart in everything he did.

SDLF was created out of love — to continue his legacy of kindness, inclusion, mentorship, and giving back.
