Today is Indigenous Peoples' Day! Click on the link to find ways to honor and celebrate the histories, cultures, resilience and contributions of Indigenous peoples here in the Chicago area -- not only today but every day. Chicago has the third-largest urban Indigenous population in the U.S. -- with some 175 tribes represented. One of the places mentioned in the article is Gichigamiin Indigenous Nations Museum in Evanston -- the location of a Grace Seeds Ministry field trip earlier this year. Highly recommend visiting!

What an amazing event! The urban farm at Precious Blood Ministry Of Reconciliation, one of our Share the Harvest Growing Partners, was the location for a 10-week cooking class that culminated in a delicious farm-to-table evening of feasting! Read all about it in PBMR's post!

We're so glad to share this invitation from Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran in Chicago-Beverly -- one of our Share the Harvest Growing Partners and the Bethlehem Peace Center! Blessings on this celebration of Sukkot -- created in partnership with the Beverly Jewish Community! Please note: the event is tonight!
From the post: "During Sukkot Jewish families build a temporary shelter (a sukkah) outside their home. Throughout the festival they eat meals, visit with friends and neighbors, and sometimes even sleep in the sukkah. Sukkot is a celebration of the harvest and of God's continuing provision. The Beverly Jewish community will once again build a community sukkah on the north lawn at Bethlehem. They invite the community to an interfaith dinner on Friday, starting at 5:30 PM. There will be activities and crafts for children, traditional blessings and prayers, and a pizza party. All are welcome! The meal is co-hosted by The Peace Center at Bethlehem."
