The PTROI is a statewide association committed to protecting, representing, and advancing the towing and recovery industry across Illinois.

The Professional Towing & Recovery Operators of Illinois (PTROI), is a nonprofit, statewide organization formed to protect and promote the welfare of those engaged in the towing and recovery business and aid in ensuring the safety of the public in Illinois. Its goals are to educate members and the public, promote professional and quality towing services to provide a more favorable image of the towing industry for the public, and unite towers working for the common good of the towing industry. Since the formation of the PTROI in 1980, we have been fortunate to have had a succession of strong leadership who have worked to improve the image of the industry. Their hard work and dedication has seen the Association grow which has brought with it many rewards; we have become a recognized voice in Springfield and respected as a contributor to the state. Our monthly news letter and meetings keep our members informed. The PTROI hosts an annual tow show, giving our members opportunity to stay on top of the latest equipment. And lastly our relationships with the Illinois State Police, County and Local police agencies have improved with the assistance of our association. The PTROI is now the primary contact by local and state authorities. We have become recognized as an association lawmakers are willing to invite onto legislative panels to gain the industries perspective and experience when looking at laws that will affect our industry. Several of our past and present board members still serve on either committees or panels through out the year. They are always willing to volunteer their time. When legislation is in session, you will frequently find them in Springfield, spending untold hours working on your behalf, either on the above mentioned work groups or testifying in front of the various committees. Because of this tireless commitment from your board, and our continued support of our members we are able to have significant input at the state level

If you are interested, please call me!

Thanks!!!!

🚨 WRECKMASTER TRAINING ILLINOIS! 🚨

PTROI was excited to bring WreckMaster training to Illinois, and what a great weekend it was! 💪🏼

We had a great turnout of towing and recovery professionals who spent the weekend sharpening their skills, learning new techniques, and investing in themselves and the future of our industry.

A HUGE thank you to everyone who helped make this training possible:

👏 Ray & Wally's Towing for providing an excellent location for the class
👏 Judge Automotive for donating the truck used for hands-on training
👏 Suburban Towing & Recovery for providing lunch on both Saturday and Sunday
👏 WreckMaster Inc. for bringing the knowledge, experience, and hands-on instruction to Illinois

Training like this makes our industry stronger, safer, and more professional. The skills learned in a classroom are important—but putting those skills to work in a hands-on environment is where the real value comes in.

This is what PTROI is all about—supporting our members, promoting education, and helping move the towing and recovery industry forward. 🇺🇸🚨

Thank you to everyone who made this weekend a success!

PTROI was proud to be part of Large Car Takeover on the Tarmac and we’re especially excited that the towing industry was included this year. It was fantastic to see so many impressive heavy-duty tow trucks on display and connect with operators from across the industry.

Here are just a few of the tow trucks that participated this weekend.

We’ll find out tomorrow morning who takes home the top honors in the Heavy-Duty Tow Truck Division. Good luck to all the competitors! 🏆💪
