Thirty years of forensic research on psychopathic traits. What has it actually taught us about assessment, prediction, and treatment?

Dr. Kent Kiehl will examine the contemporary assessment of psychopathic traits and recent evidence regarding their predictive value in forensic practice. He will also explore:

• The strengths and limitations of neuroimaging research
• How emerging findings could inform treatment
• Ongoing controversies and academic debates in the field

Dr. Kiehl is Professor of Psychology, Neuroscience, and Law at the University of New Mexico and Executive Science Officer of the Mind Research Network. His research focuses on clinical neuroscience and forensic populations, including the use of mobile MRI technology to study brain structure and function.

Three decades of findings, and the open questions that come with them.

Three Days Left: Register Early and Make the Connections that Matter

Some of the most valuable moments at the ATSA Conference aren't on the agenda. They're the conversations between sessions, the introductions over lunch, and the connections that continue long after the conference ends.

Networking is consistently one of the highest-rated parts of the conference experience. Join colleagues at the Motown Mixer, meet ATSA's Board of Directors, and make the most of lunches, breaks, and the conversations that happen in the hallways.

Save $100 and register today before registration rates increase this Saturday, August 1st.

Every connection starts with a welcome.

Our new Conference Connections Program matches first-time attendees and students with experienced conference participants who can answer questions, make introductions, recommend sessions, and help you feel part of the ATSA community from day one.

If you're attending your first ATSA Conference, you don't have to navigate it alone.

Here's why ATSA Board Member Ali Tabb believes the program matters:

“When I attended my first ATSA Conference in 2019, I was new to the field. I was excited to learn, but I also wasn’t quite sure how to get plugged in or where to start. While everyone I met was welcoming, a large conference can still feel overwhelming, especially when you’re trying to navigate the sessions, meet people, and find your place in a new professional community.

The Conference Connections program was created with that experience in mind. We aim to make those first few days feel a little less intimidating and a lot more connected. Having someone to answer questions, help you get the lay of the land, and make introductions can help transform a conference from an overwhelming experience into the beginning of meaningful professional relationships and a lasting sense of belonging within the ATSA community.

Whether you're looking for a mentor or ready to welcome someone new, we'd love to help you make a connection.
