Agave Dogs Rescue was founded in 2017 after seeing constant pleas on social media from shelters and rescuers in Texas and other Southern states for help with their dog overpopulation crisis. Dogs dumped on the side of the road, dogs minutes from euthanasia unless a rescue tagged them, dogs enduring years of hardship and neglect with owners who didn't or couldn't care for them. We knew the Pacific

Northwest had an extensive demographic of amazing dog lovers willing to offer homes and their hearts to dogs in need. Our Mission:
Agave Dogs rescues adoptable, homeless dogs from areas overwhelmed with pet overpopulation and finds them loving, permanent homes in Oregon and Washington. We assist dogs at risk for euthanasia in high kill shelters and strays found on the street by out of state rescuers. ADOPTED! Danika was a stray puppy brought into a shelter in California who needed an exit plan. Most shelters are drowning in puppies that literally grow up in the shelter. We hate to see puppies lose their baby faces during long shelter stints. We want adopters to get to enjoy their puppy’s youth and for young puppies not to experience prolonged stress and fear in a shelter setting.

This amazing young couple was thrilled to have Danika join their home and she will get acreage to enjoy too. Congratulations Danika! 🌻

Edwin wanted to share this pretty photo from his neighborhood walk today 🌼

Edwin is a dream to walk and it’s pure joy for him! After surviving a hoarding house for the past couple of years, we think he especially relishes the fresh air, sunlight and interesting smells. Prior to a couple weeks ago, he was locked in a house with 9 other dogs and not let outside. We are so happy he gets to be in a better situation in foster now.

An adoptive home for Edwin would be such a blessing!

Temu wants you to know that he loves having dog friends and would be over the moon to have a furry bestie in his future home 🐕🐕🐕

Temu has a nice play style, shares toys well, follows the lead of other dogs and gets so much confidence from dog friends large and small. He also aced his cat test and decided to take a nap next to his new feline acquaintance (see last photo.)

Temu is the brown and red kid in the photos who often gets scrolled past. Could he be a fit for your home?

ADOPTED! Radish had a rough start in life. He was left at a homeless shelter in California and staff reached out to us to see if we could accept Radish into our program. Yes please!

Radish is such a special, snuggly, loving little guy who deserved a charmed life. We have no doubt he will get just that with his doting new parents. Happy new life Radish! 🌼

ADOPTED! Paprika was part of a litter of puppies abandoned with their mom on some property in California. The whole family needed a positive outcome and we were happy to help them out.

Paprika was especially shy and her foster mom worked diligently with Paprika to build her confidence in a home setting over a couple of weeks. Thankfully, a wonderful adopter with a calm home, patience and the desire to help a shy puppy materialized. Paprika is off with her new mom and adjusting well. Best wishes Paprika! ❤️

Senior gentleman, Edwin, is such an easy little companion. Yet he’s had no adoption interest so far. We are hoping someone will notice what a gem he is 💎

Edwin’s rescue story was one that stung. His owners moved out of the country and Edwin found himself in a hoarding situation. When we reached out to the original owners on his microchip they seemed to have zero care for Edwin or his situation. We got Edwin out of a feces-caked home with 9 other dogs all locked inside.

Edwin seems so relieved to be in a foster home. To be clean. Have fresh air. Sunlight. Green grass. The walks he gets so excited for. He’s a resilient, kind little guy.

• 18 pounds and 8-9 years old •

Great with other dogs and cats.

Sneakers hopes you’re having a wonderful weekend like he is! After 8 months in a California shelter he thinks he’s landed in Disneyland being in a foster home 🎾

Sneakers loves other dogs and is good with cats. Perfect potty habits in foster and crates nicely. No leash reactivity.

Can you help sponsor Winlock’s grooming? ✂️

With the help of Bowe's Animal Rescue, we have been working to get 10 neglected dogs out of a hoarding situation. Winlock is one of them.

He is 108 pounds and sadly very obese. His coat was heavy and matted with foxtails. He also has an ear infection, needs to be neutered and have a dental done. But mostly we are asking if supporters can help cover his $120 grooming appointment from last night. He feels a million times better today! 🪩🕺
