Congratulations Program Committee for the great presentation and pizza lunch on April 13!
Katie Hennagir, owner of Bay Window Quilt Shop in Perham was the Guest Speaker. In the morning lecture, Katie showcased many beautiful patterns and illustrated how any quilter's stash could be incorporated into stunning quilts.
At 1:00, Katie displayed a wonderful array of her quilts in a trunk show. So much 'Eye-candy' and talent!
Katie's presentations were engaging, fun, and informative. Her shop is located at 116 2nd Ave SW in Perham.
Thank you Katie! We had 130 attendees including Pinetree Patchworkers members and guests.

Also on display was our PPQG 2026 Raffle Quilt! Beautiful workmanship by a team of skilled members! Tickets are just $2 each. Check back here for an update on where the quilt will be displayed and where you may purchase your tickets. Drawing will be at our November Guild meeting.

After our business meeting Guild members quilts were featured in Show-and-Tell. (See separate post for those.)

Highlights of our Guild meeting, March 9, 2026:
First of all "Thank you Matt Longin" for such a fun and informative presentation showcasing your collection and sharing your knowledge about Singer Featherweight machines. I was surprised how many members and guests raised their hands as owners of a Featherweight!
Second, the array of quilts, bags, table runners and other projects for Show-and-Tell were amazing, beautiful and inspiring as usual! Thank you to to the 'quilt holders'!

Here are opportunities to view some great quilted pieces featuring our own local gem, Cherrywood Hand Dyed Fabrics, in Baxter!

1) In the Summer2025 issue of Quilting Arts Magazine (I picked up the copy at the Brainerd Public Library), there is a 13-page feature article about the Cherrywood Challenge 2024 Poppy Challenge with a gallery of winners prominently displayed on its pages.

2) Also in the same issue, pages 70-74, is an article about a quilt guild in Tennessee partnering with a design firm to create and construct two very large quilts for a residential and multi-use facility in Nashville. The 5-panel pentaptych, 20 ft X 7 ft (yes, feet!) was made by their talented guild members with 13 colors of Cherrywood Fabrics!

3) Check out on YouTube the Live Dec 9 episode of The Quilt Show, hosted by Alex Anderson. All About Cherrywood Fabrics with Karla Overland. The Cherrywood Challenge pieces Alex is sharing are from 'The Abyss' Challenge and one of the quilts is by our own local Guild member, Terri Bahn. (Alex says "I Love this one!") Way to shine, Terri!

Highlights of our November 10th Guild meeting. My apologies for the delay in posting these!

We watched the Netflix documentary 'The Quilters', then Nealna and Cheryl shared what the Crow Wing County Jail Quilting Program is all about with some quilts to show, constructed and tied by women inmates, bound by volunteers, and later delivered to Leech Lake Women's Services in Cass Lake.

Guild members' Show-and-Tell was awash with color, pattern, and variety! Thank you to our numerous quilt holders too. Thank you all for your creative energy and participation!
