Applications are open for the 2027 Baton Roots Agroforestry Apprenticeship Program!

If you’re interested in plants, trees, sustainability, and hands-on work, this is a chance to get paid while building real skills for a career in the green industry.

Program Details

* $20/hour
* 28 hours per week, or up to 31 with extra opportunity hours
* January–December 2027
* Tuesdays–Thursdays, 9:00 AM–4:30 PM
* Summer schedule: 8:00 AM–3:30 PM
* Part-time W-2 position

Apprentices will learn through a mix of classroom instruction, hands-on work, community projects, partner-site visits, and career preparation. Training covers areas like plant and tree care, landscaping, sustainable growing, food production, urban forestry, and community engagement.

The program also includes preparation for industry licenses and certifications, with exam and certification fees covered.

Applicants must be:

* 18 or older
* Eligible to work in the U.S.
* Available for the full weekly schedule
* Not enrolled in school during the 2027 apprenticeship year
* Ready to commit to the full 12-month program
