⚠️ SAFETY ALERT⚠️

Our Private Police Patrol notified residents at the Broadmoor Crime Prevention & Improvement District meeting that BRPD is investigating a series of car break-ins happening at a nearby neighborhood.

🚨 The suspects are considered ARMED.

If you see anyone suspicious near vehicles:
🔴 DO NOT approach or confront them
🔴 Call 911 immediately
🔴 Try to note descriptions, direction of travel, and vehicle info if it's safe to do so

A few reminders to protect your own vehicle:
✅ Lock your car every time — even in your driveway
✅ Don't leave valuables, bags, or electronics visible
✅ Turn on porch lights / motion-activated lighting at night
✅ Doorbell and driveway cameras have helped catch offenders in past incidents

🦅 𝗨𝗽 𝘁𝗼 $𝟮𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗥𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗜𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗹 𝗞𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗱 𝗘𝗮𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗩𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗵

LDWF and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service are seeking the public’s help in the investigation of the illegal shooting and killing of a bald eagle in Vermilion Parish.

The injured eagle was discovered near the intersection of Robert and Wilmer roads on Dec. 5, 2025. LDWF personnel captured the eagle and transported it for examination, where it was determined to have suffered a fatal injury consistent with a gunshot wound. The eagle died shortly after being discovered and was sent to USFWS for an in-depth necropsy.

🔎 Investigators have been working the case and received numerous tips and are looking for any additional information.

💰 𝗔 𝗿𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝘂𝗽 𝘁𝗼 $𝟮𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, including:
