The word Boscoyo was first heard by our group on History Channel's Swamp People by hunter/fisherman Troy Landry. While describing the fighting thrashes of an angry alligator Mr. Landry said, "He's gone under da boscoyos!..." Following a few jokes about "gone under the boscoyos" we had a light bulb moment and the name for our tailgate was born. Even though our tailgate’s name was created by repeati
ng a silly line from a TV show, our name eventually evolved to have more meaning than a simple joke. The boscoyos, cypress tree roots, have come to symbolize the close knit network of friends and families that make up our tailgating krewe. Thus, Tailgate Boscoyo is the collective name used to represent a vast network of friends and family who love the state of Louisiana and her sports. Our page displays that we were founded in 2012. Our krewe name, Tailgate Boscoyo, was first used in the year 2012, but we started tailgating as a group a few years before. In those earlier times we were not as organized and had less equipment. We were also students and therefore had no money. Due to our krewe members graduating, becoming young professionals in the working world, getting older, and becoming more family-oriented, our tailgate has undergone changes. As of 2015, we are a well-organized, actively strong tailgate.
