We wanted to make sure you all know that we are tracking the forecast for tomorrow.

Pride will happen rain or shine, and we follow the 'sporting events' rules; if there is thunder or lightning we will bring people under cover of the pavilion, and will monitor radar to determine if the event is 'paused' or cancelled. Models right now show a brief line of storms in the early to mid afternoon, and we are keeping tabs on those!

The best source of information will be this page which we will keep updated.

The ground tends to have slight standing water after a large rain, so people may want to dress accordingly.

The Franklin County Health Department, located in Brookville, offers public health services to community members. We offer infant, child, and adult immunizations; TB testing; rapid HIV/Hep C testing; lead testing; biometric screenings; health education; vital records; septic permits and inspections; food permits and inspections; and so much more! Please remember to sign up for your spot in our Pride Blood Drive!

Part of inclusion is making sure that everyone can contribute to their community in their own capacity.

Until 2023, gay and bisexual men were barred from donating blood unless they were celibate. This started in the 1980s during the AIDs epidemic, with a lifetime ban even after HIV testing became available in 1985.

After decades of advocacy, in 2015 the FDA switched to a deferral period - donation was only allowed after 12 months of celibacy. This shifted to 3 months during the 2020 blood shortage caused by Covid-19.

Finally in 2023, the ban and referrals were lifted and moved to a risk-based assessment that is gender-inclusive and based on individual behaviors.

To acknowledge this, and in the spirit of giving back to community, we are having our FIRST EVER BAID blood drive during Pride!

This will be a fairly short meeting ran by our Pride chair to make sure people know what to expect on the day of!

Ohio Le***an Archives

The Ohio Le***an Archives (OLA) has been an integral part of the Cincinnati and broader Midwestern LGBTQ+ community since its founding in 1989. As a community-driven, grassroots organization, OLA has been dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of LGBTQ+ individuals and communities in Cincinnati and the surrounding areas. OLA’s mission is rooted in combating invisibility through highlighting the stories of those who have been overlooked by mainstream institutions both historically and today.

OLA’s collections include personal papers, photographs, oral histories, and organizational records, all of which document the lived experiences, activism, and cultural contributions of LGBTQ+ individuals in Cincinnati and beyond. Key collections, such as those from Crazy Ladies feminist bookstore and local LGBTQ+ newspapers, provide a unique perspective on grassroots movements, activism, and identity formation in the Midwest.
