It's National Chocolate Day! 🍫 And while we love a good chocolate treat, we love an even sweeter deal: canned food that turns into full plates for families across Kane County.

Times are changing here too. Our Tri-Cities CANstruction crews are building something new: creative sculptures made entirely of cans, all to restock local food pantry shelves across Kane County.

Nestled on River Street in Batavia, Side Car Supper Club is known for its scratch kitchen menu, Thursday night trivia, and live music. Melissa Monno, owner, is also known to cruise Batavia in her side car with her goggled German Shepherd by her side or roller blade meals to outdoor patio customers. Melissa has recruited Rebecca W. Allen, formerly with Axis Designs and Allen + Pepa Architects, out of retirement to design and build something special!

🌍 World Food Day — Oct 16
Today is World Food Day — a global reminder that food security is a challenge faced by communities everywhere, including right here in Kane County.
Tri-Cities Canstruction exists for exactly this reason: to turn creativity and teamwork into real meals for local families. Every can in our sculptures goes directly to food pantries serving Batavia, Geneva, and St. Charles.

Welcome Team 7: Waubonsee Community College CAD Club! Waubonsee Community College has created our website, is hosting our Build and Exhibit in February, and has been an incredible partner in bringing Tri-Cities Canstruction to life. They recently opened, The G.R.O.V.E, an on-campus food pantry for enrolled students and they plan to fill the shelves by masterminding a Canstruction build. Waubonsee has recruited Travis Miller, an architect with in Chicago. GRAEF is a 65 year-old engineering firm that designs for people, communities and the planet. What will this dynamic duo build with canned food?
