Strong communities are built when we work together.

Our Community Awareness & Prevention Education (CAPE) Team works alongside local organizations, community leaders, and youth to educate our community on violence prevention, healthy relationships, safety, and available resources.

Want to support this important work? Here are a few ways you can help:

• Sponsor a meal for a Youth Advisory Board (YAB) meeting
• Donate snacks and refreshments for youth and community events
• Offer space for workshops, meetings, trainings, or community gatherings
• Participate in community outreach and awareness events
• Follow, like, share, and engage with our social media content to help spread awareness

Every conversation, every partnership, and every act of support helps us create a safer, stronger, and more informed community.

Together, we can prevent violence, empower youth, and connect individuals and families to the resources they need.

Big impact starts with small choices.
Together Tuesday is a national day of community action and shared generosity, taking place on June 23. It reminds us all that you don’t need a massive budget to make a massive difference.
At the Family Crisis Center, there are many ways to help make a difference for those in need:

• Volunteer for our 24-hour hotline (from the comfort of your home)
• Volunteer at the Bits & Pieces Thrift Store
• Donate non-perishable food to our in-house pantry
• Donate supplies for the upkeep of our housing facilities
• Attend our community events
• Share our social media posts to help spread the word

For survivors of domestic and sexual violence, knowing they aren't alone is a powerful turning point. Small donations and acts of kindness help our programs continue to change lives.

THANK YOU to our amazing friends at Apple Lumber in Smithville!
They generously donated several cans of paint to our supportive housing apartments. A fresh coat of paint does so much more than just brighten up a room—it helps create a warm, welcoming, and dignified space for our residents to call home.
We are incredibly grateful for local businesses like Apple Lumber who step up to support their community. Thank you for helping us make a difference!
