🇺🇸⭐ Walk of Honor - Memorial Day Ceremony ⭐🇺🇸

Join American Legion Post 128 of Greene County as we come together to remember and honor those who have served and sacrificed for our country ❤️🤍💙

📅 Monday, May 25, 2026
⏰ Ceremony begins at 10:00 AM (arrive by 9:30 AM for parking & seating)
📍 Post 128 Building
636 Madison Road (Route 230)
Stanardsville, VA

🇺🇸 Veterans will be honored with the flying of the American Flag
📖 Names of sponsored veterans will be read
🙏 Prayers, history, and patriotic songs
🎺 Ceremony concludes with the playing of "Taps"

🍪 Light refreshments will be served following the ceremony

This event is free and open to the public - all are welcome to stand with us in honoring our heroes 🇺🇸

Let’s come together as a community to show our respect and gratitude.

Exciting things are happening as we enter our busiest time to wrap up our first Trail Life year together as a troop! :)
We also have some Donation Drives starting this Thursday, 2/19, also!

Our Trail Life USA Troop VA 0119 is starting an Animal Needs Drive for the local animal shelters: cat/dog food items, blankets, toys, bedding, puppy pads, bird & bunny food.
Collecting items through 3/19.

Dates to donate the items will be announced soon!

Our sister AHG Troop VA 0119, is also collecting items for the following:
-CARE package items for our older people at The Harbor at Renaissance: nice soaps, lotions, hair and foot care items, puzzles, activity books, books, magazines, etc

-Food items for Feeding Greene: boxed, canned, bagged food & canned/bottled drinks/juices
Collecting items for these until 2/27!

Let's Get Moving! See everyone at Hit the Trail Tomorrow!

We expect boys to sit still, draw neat lines, and color inside them. But that’s not how boys learn. They need more than just the classroom—they need the campfire. Boys are kinesthetic. Loud. Curious. They learn by doing—not by being told.

But instead of fanning that flame, we too often smother it.

In a world of screens and silence, their drive becomes a disruption. But when you put a map in their hand, give them a mountain to climb, or ask them to lead a younger boy—everything changes.

At Trail Life, we don’t punish boys for moving. We disciple them in motion. We don’t tame them. We train them. Because the world doesn’t need more boys who fit in. It needs boys who know who they are, where they’re going, and Who they're following.

You can’t train grit in the sunshine. It’s forged in the storm. Boys are wired for challenge. For adventure. They don’t need everything easy—they crave something meaningful.

While serving at a local community event, the Trailmen of Troop TX-0777 found themselves in the middle of a thunderstorm. Soaked shirts. Chilled fingers. Boots sloshing. But they didn’t ask to go home. They had a job to do, and they were determined to do it.

You might think hours of waiting and practicing under bleachers or in a soggy field would dampen a boy’s mood. But you’d be wrong. Through it all, the boys were smiling. Laughing. Standing tall.

In the end, they led with honor—heads high, shoulders back, flags held firm.

In Trail Life, we don’t shield boys from every storm. We walk with them through it—and watch them rise.
