When a local woman recently moved her mother in because of health concerns, even getting in and out of the house became a daily challenge. Their front steps were difficult to manage, so a new ramp was installed to help make their home safer and more accessible. Weโ€™re grateful to be part of projects that help families care for their loved ones with greater comfort and independence. ๐Ÿ’™

This ramp is a great example of the partnership between Habitat for Humanity of Greene County and Skyline CAP. When a need arises in Greene County that Skyline CAP identifies and HFH Greene can take on, we provide the volunteer labor while Skyline CAP covers the cost of materials. Working together like this helps stretch resources further and allows Skyline CAP to serve even more families in our community.

Sometimes a ramp is more than a structure - it's peace of mind, safety, and dignity during a difficult season.

We recently completed two temporary ramp projects for local families in need. One was a 41-foot ramp built quickly for a couple preparing for surgery that would leave the husband in a wheelchair when he returned home. The second ramp is helping another husband safely get from the car into the house while he recovers from significant foot surgery.

These temporary ramps meet urgent needs today, and once a family no longer needs them, they are removed, stored, and used again to help another family in the future.

This is the kind of practical support that changes lives, and we are thankful to be part of it.
