Giving back to Wisconsin's busiest park using our minds, muscle, and money since '96! Devil’s Lake State Park hosts more than 2,500,000 visitors a year.

The Friends partner with park staff to sponsor educational and recreational activities, host hands-on stewardship workdays, and raise funds to support park improvements. To ensure that the park remains an unspoiled jewel of nature, members of the non-profit group Friends of Devil’s Lake State Park (FODL) contribute their minds, muscle, and money. The Friends partner with park staff and volunteers to complete environmental and beautification projects, sponsor educational and recreational activities for park visitors, and raise funds to support special park needs.

Meet The Folks of Devil’s Lake! Adam and Kodi

Adam is from the Sauk area and does a lot of hiking with his dogs. He particularly likes DLSP for the variety of terrain and great views from just about anywhere around the lake.

Come help out at our Fall Adopt-A-Highway Cleanup! 🗑️✨

📍 Meet at Steinke Basin parking lot (off Hwy DL) at 9 AM

It's been another super busy year at the park, which means its time to give the highways running through the park a little TLC. Join us to help pick up trash and keep our park looking its best. 👏

We'll provide bags, grabbers, safety vests, safety glasses and snacks.

Please bring your own beverage, gloves and closed-toe shoes. 🥾

Throwback to the fall of ‘98 🍂

These photos show Friends of Devil’s Lake volunteers distributing native seeds throughout the Roznos Meadow.

The Roznos Meadow is named after the Roznos family, who farmed this land for many years before it became part of the park.

The Roznos Meadow Trail (the park’s newest trail) offers an easy stroll through this managed prairie, with beautiful floral and tall grass landscapes. It is also part of the Ice Age Trail system! 🥾

Check out this COOL new wayfinding sign that we installed last week! 🎉

You can find it on the North Shore, right in front of the Chateau. This is definitely one of the busiest areas of the park, so we expect this sign will help lots of visitors find their way. 🥾

Meet the Fall Foliage of Devil’s Lake!
The rain and high winds last week took down a lot of those beautiful leaves but there are still areas of vibrant color. This weekend may be the last one of the season to see the autumnal fire.

Ah...fall at the lake 😌🍂

It's shaping up to be a ✨beautiful✨ weekend, so come out and soak it all in while these colors last!

And while you're here, consider doing a little something to help preserve this beautiful place.

See a piece of trash on the trail that you don't *really* wanna pick up? Maybe pick it up anyway.

Or maybe, show your fellow park-goers a little extra patience and kindness! Smile at someone as you're walking along the trails.

Be gentle towards wildlife, and stay on the trails to protect their habitats and give them plenty of space. They deserve to enjoy this beauty just as much as the rest of us.

There are so many little ways we can help care for this incredible place. Let's do our part to keep it beautiful for seasons to come. 🍁

🍁🍁The fall colors have started to pop all over the park!🍁🍁
This weekend will be perfect for everyone to get out and enjoy the autumnal colors. There will be plenty of time over the next couple of weeks to catch the vibrant yellow, orange, and red of the trees as they put on a show before a long winters nap.
