We have a beautiful theatre in the heart of Baraboo. And take a look at that hand-painted fire curtain!

There are places that simply hold stories… and then there are places that are the story. On this World Theatre Day, we celebrate the magic, the artistry, and the shared human experience that only live theatre can offer.

And yes… we might be a little biased—but the Al. Ringling Theatre isn’t just a theatre. It’s a masterpiece.

From its breathtaking European-inspired design to the way the light catches the ornate details overhead, every inch of this historic space invites you to pause, look closer, and feel something. It was built not just for performance, but for wonder—and more than a century later, it still delivers both in abundance as Al's gift to the city he called home.

This stage has carried laughter, music, drama, and dreams. It has welcomed generations of performers and audiences, each leaving a little piece of themselves behind while taking unforgettable memories with them.

Today, we celebrate theatres everywhere—but we’re especially grateful for this jewel in our community. A place where history lives, stories unfold, and the curtain always rises on something special.

Here’s to the magic of theatre—and to keeping it alive for generations to come.
