The name, Christopher, means Christ-bearer. In our own way, we the people of St. Christopher’s try to follow the example of our patron by being Christ bearers for one another and for the community in which we live. Like our patron, we seek to serve Christ through our worship, fellowship and service. This is in keeping with our baptismal promise to, seek and serve Christ in all persons, loving your neighbor as yourself. The town of Bandera lies approximately 50 miles northwest of San Antonio. It is the county seat of Bandera County. A mixture of ranching, tourism, hunting, fishing and, increasingly, retirement households supports the area’s economy. Bandera is the site of numerous outdoor festivals and is known as the ‘Cowboy Capital of the World.’

Secretary office hours are Monday-Friday from 9:00-12:00 noon. Rob is available most mornings for walk-ins or to open the church for prayer. To schedule an appointment please call the office. If we are not there, simply leave a message (phone, email, or stick it on the door) and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

COWBOY COMMUNION AND BLESSING OF PETS

Join us the Sunday, October 4, at 10 a.m. in the Worshiip Pavilion for Cowboy Communion with our Lutheran neighbors and the blessing of pets. Bring you cat, dog, bird, snake, horse or mule to receive a blessing during the service. The afternoon will conclude with a potluck in the Parish Hall and on the church grounds.

Rally Day at St. Christopher’s!

The Rev. Canon Leyla King delivered a wonderful and inspiring sermon today at St. Christopher’s as we celebrated Rally Day!

Rev. King serves as Canon for Small Churches in the Diocese of West Texas. Following the service, our congregation enjoyed a delicious potluck dinner and then learned about activities throughout our campus and the many opportunities available for each member to serve in the church’s ministries.

Rev. King also shared how her office can assist small churches with the unique needs and opportunities that come with being a smaller congregation. Her message was both encouraging and informative, reminding us that every person has an important role to play in the life and ministry of our church.

It was a wonderful day of worship, fellowship, good food, and discovering new ways to serve, connect, and grow together at St. Christopher’s!

The Right Reverend Angela Cortinas, Bishop Suffragan of West Texas, was the distinguished guest at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church on Sunday, August 16. The congregation appreciated her engaging sermon, following which everyone proceeded to the newly constructed outdoor chapel for a celebratory blessing. The ceremony concluded with a successful potluck reception. Appreciation is extended to all who contributed to the day's festivities.

The community came together today at St Christopher's Episcopal Church outdoor chapel for a Patriotic Cowboy Communion service, held in conjunction with Grace Lutheran. The service was marked by inspiring worship, lively music, and a festive 4th of July 250th Anniversary potluck. Thanks are due to all who participated, performed, and assisted with the event.
