The Arc Baltimore’s Culture Committee recently hosted an incredible Juneteenth picnic, bringing together our staff and the wonderful people we support for a memorable day of celebration and community. The event featured a massive grill-out, thanks to our phenomenal staff volunteers who stepped up to fire up the grills and serve an absolute feast to everyone in attendance. Adding to the day's vibrant energy, we were honored to host the Keur Khaleyi African Dance Company. They blew the crowd away with a powerful performance, shared the rich history and education behind their traditions, and even got everyone on their feet to learn a few moves. Days like this remind us of the beautiful power of culture, inclusion, and coming together as one big community.

A big thank you to the team from Structural Technologies for volunteering at The Arc Baltimore's Homeland Day location as part of their BUILD initiative!

Volunteers spent the day cleaning up the back patio, spreading mulch, planting flowers, cleaning up the Koi pond, and working alongside the people we support to paint planters and brighten our outdoor spaces.

We are grateful for community partners like Structural Group who make a lasting impact through both their hard work and meaningful connections.

Thank you for helping our Homeland Day location bloom! 🌼🌿

The Little Free Library tour continues! 📚✨

We are thrilled to celebrate our next ribbon-cutting ceremony, this time bringing the joy of reading to the Rosedale community!

Frank did the honors of cutting the ribbon to officially open this brand-new library, and we were so honored to have some incredible community leaders there to support the launch. A huge thank you to Delegate Kim Ross from District 8 and Senator Carl Jackson ’s office for joining us and celebrating with us.

The Rosedale neighborhood is already showing so much love for the new spot—neighbors were stopping by to donate books before the ribbon even hit the ground!

Big news for book lovers in Baltimore! The Arc Baltimore is officially launching a brand new initiative to bring Little Free Library to neighborhoods across our community, promoting accessible reading for everyone.

We kicked things off with a wonderful celebration and ribbon-cutting ceremony at Ed and Kelly’s home! We were deeply honored to welcome a representative from Senator Carl Jackson ’s office, who presented the home and their brand new library with an official citation in recognition of this great new project.

Keep an eye out for more Little Libraries popping up soon, and join us in thanking Ed, Kelly, and Senator Jackson's office for helping us turn the page on a more connected, accessible community!
