Did you know your support for Baltimore City youth could come with a valuable Maryland state tax benefit?

Maryland’s Community Investment Tax Credit (CITC) Program allows eligible donors to receive a 50% state income tax credit on qualifying donations to approved organizations.

Yesterday, Requity students collaborated with MICA Fibers students from the Fashioning Culture class at our HQ to begin designing custom apparel for our construction students!

A huge shoutout to Requity Business and Construction, and a special thank-you to MICA Fiber, Fashion, and Textile, MICA, and MICA Multi Media Event for visiting and working with us on this shared project.

We’re excited to see what comes next and look forward to continue working on this shared project. It was great to host MICA students and work together outfit our amazing construction team.

This week, Requity Business students had the opportunity to visit Open Works for an exciting field trip!

Open Works is a community makerspace that provides access to open studios, fabrication spaces, and resources for people interested in creating, building, and exploring the visual arts.

Our students got to tour the woodshop, textile labs, music and media studios, print studios, 3D printing spaces, and so much more!

Students were excited to ask questions, connect with artists and skilled tradespeople, and discover the incredible resources available right here in our own city for creatives and makers.

A huge thank you to Open Works for welcoming us and giving our students the opportunity to explore new creative possibilities!

This week, Requity was proud to welcome Whiting-Turner Contracting Company’s President & CEO Tim Regan and Vice President of Community Impact Lauren Bennett to our headquarters on Presstman Street in West Baltimore!

Tim and Lauren spent time with our construction students, met our team and alumni, and learned more about our work and visited Carver House, Requity’s first student-led home restoration project.

We especially appreciated hearing Tim share reflections from his own journey, along with his message about seizing opportunities, planning ahead, and prioritizing safety. His emphasis on pre-task planning (PTP!) strongly resonated with our team’s approach to engaging students and reinforcing the importance of thoughtful preparation and safety on every project.

Thank you again to Tim and Lauren for spending time with us. We’re excited to continue building this relationship and creating more opportunities for young people to explore the trades. 🔨🏠

Ready to gain real-world experience, build valuable skills, and GET PAID while doing it? Requity Foundation is recruiting young people for our 2026–2027 30-Week Youth Internship Program!

From September through May, interns will receive hands-on training alongside experienced professionals while working on real projects that make an impact in our community.
