𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐋𝐓𝐇 𝐓𝐈𝐏𝐒: 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐓 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐋𝐓𝐇𝐘 𝐖𝐀𝐘!

Good morning from Care Africa Medical Foundation Health Center! As you begin your day, remember that good health starts with simple, healthy habits. Drink a glass of clean water every morning to help keep your body hydrated and energized. Eat a balanced breakfast that includes fruits, vegetables, eggs, and whole grains to provide your body with the nutrients it needs. Starting your morning with healthy food and enough water can help you stay active and focused throughout the day.

Stay active, maintain good hygiene, and get enough rest. A few minutes of morning exercise, stretching, or walking can improve your mood and support your heart and overall well-being. Wash your hands regularly, keep your body clean, and maintain a clean environment to help prevent the spread of diseases. Remember that quality sleep is equally important; adults generally need 7–9 hours of sleep each night to support their physical health, mental well-being, and immune system.

Finally, take care of your mental health by starting each day with a positive attitude, gratitude, and a peaceful mind. Avoid unhealthy habits, pay attention to changes in your body, and seek medical attention when necessary. Regular health checkups can also help detect potential health problems early.

Care Africa Medical Foundation Health Center, located on Own-Your-Own Road, New Buchanan (Larlandsville), remains committed to providing healthcare services to the community. Remember our message: “We prioritize health over money—Touching Lives, Restoring Health.” Have a healthy and productive day!

Don’t treat medical myths as medical advice.

Check the facts, get tested when necessary, and speak with a qualified healthcare professional.

MYTH & TRUTH

1. MYTH: If you have diabetes, you can never eat carbohydrates.

✓ TRUTH: People with diabetes can eat carbohydrates. The key is choosing appropriate portions, healthier carbohydrate sources, and controlling overall blood sugar intake.

2. MYTH: Antibiotics can cure malaria.

✓ TRUTH: Antibiotics treat bacterial infections. Malaria is caused by parasites and requires appropriate antimalarial treatment.

3. MYTH: A fever always means you need antibiotics.

✓ TRUTH: Not every fever is caused by bacteria. Fever can result from viral infections, malaria, inflammation, and other conditions. Antibiotics should only be used when a bacterial infection is suspected or confirmed.

4. MYTH: You should stop taking your blood pressure medicine when your blood pressure becomes normal.

✓ TRUTH: Normal blood pressure may mean the medication is working. Do not stop prescribed treatment without discussing it with a healthcare professional.

5. MYTH: More medicine means faster recovery.

✓ TRUTH: Taking more medicine than prescribed can cause serious side effects or poisoning. The correct medicine, dose, and duration are what matter.

6. MYTH: An injection is always stronger and better than tablets.

✓ TRUTH: Injections are not automatically more effective. The best route depends on the illness, the medicine, and the patient’s condition.

7. MYTH: You can tell if someone has malaria just by looking at them.

✓ TRUTH: Symptoms such as fever, headache, chills, and weakness can occur with many illnesses. Testing is important when malaria is suspected.

8. MYTH: If you feel better, you can stop any prescribed medicine.

✓ TRUTH: Some medicines must be continued for the prescribed duration. Stopping treatment early can lead to treatment failure or complications.

9. MYTH: Natural medicine is always safe because it is natural.

✓ TRUTH: Natural products can still cause side effects, interact with medicines, or be harmful in excessive amounts. Natural does not always mean safe.

10. MYTH: A person who looks healthy cannot have high blood pressure or diabetes.

✓ TRUTH: Many people with hypertension or diabetes have few or no symptoms. Regular screening can detect these conditions early.

Your health is your greatest wealth. Stay informed. Stay healthy. Stay alive. ❤️

OWN-YOUR-OWN ROAD — As families and communities across Grand Bassa County celebrate the festive season, the Officer-In-Charge of Care Africa Medical Foundation Health Center, Gabriel Sallor, is urging all residents to make road safety a top priority.

Mr. Sallor cautioned that many road traffic crashes are preventable and encouraged motorists, motorcyclists, passengers, and pedestrians to act responsibly while using the roads.

"This festive season, don't let a moment of carelessness become a lifetime of regret. Road traffic crashes are preventable. Protect your life, protect your family—drive responsibly, wear your seat belt, avoid speeding, and never drink and drive. Every safe journey is a victory for public health," Mr. Sallor stated.

He emphasized that every responsible decision made on the road helps save lives, prevents injuries, and protects families from unnecessary tragedy. He further called on all road users to obey traffic laws, remain alert, and avoid risky behaviors that could endanger themselves and others.

Care Africa Medical Foundation Health Center remains committed to promoting public health and encourages everyone in Grand Bassa County to celebrate responsibly and ensure that every journey begins and ends safely.

OWN-YOUR-OWN ROAD – Care Africa Medical Foundation Health Center has received a generous donation of US$3,000 from the Billionaire Drap Tap Foundation in recognition of the compassionate and professional healthcare services provided by the institution.

The donation followed the successful treatment of the Foundation's Chief Executive Officer's mother at the health facility. Representatives of the Foundation said the contribution was inspired by the outstanding level of care, respect, and professionalism demonstrated by the medical team, as well as the quality healthcare services being provided to many Liberians.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the institution, Officer-in-Charge Mr. Gabriel N. Sallor expressed profound appreciation to the Foundation for its confidence in the health center's mission.

Mr. Sallor disclosed that, under the leadership of the Chief Executive Officer, Mrs. Gormah Gwagee, Care Africa Medical Foundation Health Center has established a Patient Support Fund aimed at assisting financially disadvantaged patients who are unable to afford essential medical services.

He assured the Foundation that the donation will be managed with transparency and accountability and will be directed toward providing medical assistance to vulnerable patients, ensuring greater access to quality and compassionate healthcare.

Mr. Sallor also commended the dedication of the institution's staff and encouraged them to continue delivering patient-centered care with compassion, professionalism, dignity, and integrity, regardless of recognition.

"Compassion given in silence often speaks the loudest. Patients may forget our names, but they will never forget how we made them feel. Every act of kindness has the power to change a life, and the life we save today may one day be our own," Mr. Sallor said.

Care Africa Medical Foundation Health Center remains committed to providing accessible, quality, and compassionate healthcare services while strengthening partnerships that support the wellbeing of vulnerable communities across Liberia.

OWN-YOUR-OWN ROAD— Care Africa Medical Foundation Health Center reaffirms its commitment to providing lifesaving medical care to all individuals in need, regardless of the circumstances surrounding their cases.

The Health Center recently provided emergency medical treatment to a male suspect who was brought to the facility after reportedly sustaining serious injuries from mob violence following allegations that he stabbed a 12-year-old boy to death. Upon arrival, our medical team immediately assessed his condition and administered urgent care for a deep head injury and other wounds to stabilize him.

The patient was escorted to the Health Center by officers of the Liberia National Police, who are currently conducting an investigation into the alleged murder.
