- Crow wait, please don’t go. We’re sorry
- The truth is that your voice wasn’t hideous
- Neither are your black and stubby feathers
- You are different and that scared us
- You belong here just as much as we do
- We may be beautiful but you brought us all back
together. You should be the Queen
- Oh I don’t want to be Queen, all I want are friends
I can laugh and dance with
- I think we can manage that, dear Crow
And so ended on a High Note, ‘The Queen’ our school touring show.
Looking back…
Seeing the kids get so excited and impressed is deeply moving. I feel blessed to bring this play to children with the message of Unity
- Tara aka the Hummingbird
To become a bird was magical and liberating. Being a male in a play called ‘Queen’ made me step out of my comfort zone and put down preconceived notions about gender roles and norms. It also made me feel more in touch with my beautiful and majestic side as a human being.
- (Ben) aka the 🦚
As a child, my favorite experiences were always centered around Art. They shaped my life and my values. The Queen is a powerful story that conveys the important messages of acceptance, friendship, kindness, leadership.
Witnessing children’s faces light up with delight and feeling their excitement and the impact of the story, I feel very fulfilled as an artist.
- (Ana) aka the 🦢
How wondrous it is to be able to dance, act and touch in some way every child and adult who saw the show. A blessing I’m deeply grateful to work with such wonderful and talented artists who are also dear friends.
