Fax Aurora The Colfax Aurora Community Organization ('Fax Aurora) is a 501(c)(3) community wealth-building non-profit serving Northwest Aurora.

The new mission statement for ‘Fax Aurora is to provide information, to promote opportunities and programs, and to support in other ways we can, that will assist individuals and families living in the culturally diverse and urbanized communities and neighborhoods of North Aurora to achieve financial self-sufficiency.

Free recreation center access for teens

We Are Aurora Youth is back for the summer! This program is designed to give youth, ages 13 to 18, a fun and safe place to hang out during school breaks by granting them free access to recreation centers.

Teens will also have a chance to participate in staff-led activities such as basketball, volleyball, flag football, soccer, eSports, board games and gift card competitions.

Dates - Weekdays through Aug. 7, Moorhead Recreation Center, 2390 Havana St., locally for Northwest Aurora residents.

Last month Aurora businesswoman and ‘Fax Aurora Boardmember Rosemary Oyugi received the 2026 Lifetime Achievement Award from the African Leadership Group’s Women Empowerment Committee. She was recognized for her “Outstanding leadership, unwavering dedication, and lifelong commitment to empowering women, strengthening families, and uplifting our community.” The Kenyan-American businesswoman is the owner of Rosma Designs at 15037 East Colfax Ave., Unit D in Aurora.
