As winter approaches, it's important to remember those in our community who may not have warm coats to protect them from the cold. If you have a coat to spare, please consider donating it to our coat drive. Our goal is to collect 1000 coats to help our unhoused community members stay warm this winter. You can drop off your donations at District 2 (Denver Police Department, 3921 Holly Street, Denver, Colorado) or Centennial Lodge #4 (Masonic Cultural Center, 650 Billings Street, Aurora, Colorado). I want to take some time and genuinely Honor and thank my brother, friend, and fraternity brother, Jamal T. Jackson, LCSW, for guest lecturing in my Clinical Theory class. Jamal is one of FEW black male LCSWs in the State of Colorado. He blessed us today, as he was able to bring social work theory to real life. He shared personal trials and tribulations about his social work journey. Perhaps most appreciated was Jamal’s update regarding some personal things he has “cooking in the kitchen.” He gave my students an experience they’ll never forget. Thanks again, Jamal.

Thank you AAMU Marching Maroon and White Band for allowing me to tell Part 1 of my story as your guest speaker for the 2024 Annual Band Banquet. Congrats to the Director of Bands, Carlton Wright, and the awesome staff for having such a great 2023-2024 season. Erica Fox Washington, thank you for filming this speech. Congrats to you for EARNING the Alum of the Year award. Joseph Merkerson II thank you for the heartfelt introduction. I had no clue you'd be the one introducing me to students. Shoutout to Lydia Weeks and Manuel Anthony for coming out and supporting me. That meant a lot.

It was an honor to finally give Mr. Arthur B. Wesley his flowers. He single-handedly changed the trajectory of my life.
